Omg. Terrible refereeing in ChiVCol. Chicago keeper should have been sent off for a clear deliberate hand ball outside the box. Very obvious watching live on TV.

it wasn’t even reviewed. mgarbowski mgarbowski ooint proven again. If that’s not why you have VAR, why have VAR?

Is it even reviewable by VAR? It’s not a PK since he is outside the box, and I don’t think you can consider it DOGSO considering how many defenders were back.

Well, then it’s damn sure time to fire the head official. How do you not see that?

Why would you even try to excuse this? It’s ridiculously terrible on the part of PROreferees.

Yeah, that was my thought. It's not a penalty. It's not mistaken identity. It's not serious foul play worthy of a red card. It's not a goal. So it doesn't fall under the scope of video review.

Technology doesn't fix stupid.

I’m not excusing the initial miss. It’s terrible by the ref. I was just question the anger at VAR since I didnt think it was reviewable

But keeper handling outside the area is almost always a DOGSO red. It would have been here.I think it is reviewable.

Oddly, my twitter feed last night had both people complaining that it was not reviewed, and people complaining it was reviewed and not overruled. I take it the consensus here is it was not reviewed.

Also, I didn't know Chicago has a GK named Cleveland. So when I saw tweets saying Cleveland should have had a red for keeper handling outside the area, I thought "I guess these midwest cities that start with 'C' can get confusing, but I've never had trouble, and I can't even guess which city Cleveland is supposed to be."

I had a few momentary brain pretzels while watching as well.

Wasn’t really sure about it until they interviewed him on the post match broadcast.

I checked the highlights of CLB-CHI, and they did not even show the incident. When did it happen?

Edit: Nevermind, I caught it. Clear handball outside the box, but it wasn’t on a shot, and the defense was back. So, in my view a red card isn’t really in play, which means it’s not reviewable.

Definitely horrible officiating, however.

I thought the no PK call before Columbus drew even was awful as well. Didn't go to VAR for that one.

These announcers going on about how Josef flubbed that chance. But wasn't he like completely offsides?
Yeah, he was half a body ahead of Spector when Barco(?) released it.

it's also kinda telling what style of play Martinez engages in considering he wears a mouth guard.

I know Martinez plays physical, but I wouldn't let a mouthguard be the evidence of it. Mouthguards are great deterrents for concussions.

Steph Curry is one of the few that wears one in the NBA, and I don't think he's accused of being too physical.
