MLS Week 6 - 2017

Bendik should have been ejected for kicking the LA attacker after their tussle for the ball. Wasn't a hard kick but he was leaning over the guy on the ground and moved his foot into him. In extra time so may not have meant anything for the game but a cards a card

Just dropped us out of first.
No worries. Beating them next week moves us into first. Bigger psychological face smash for them to relinquish it to us on our turf.

Dont Red Bull us again.
You know, the two teams in MLS people here talk the most shit about are RB and Orlando. Our record against them is a combined 2 Wins, 9 Losses, and 2 Ties. Can we please start showing a little restraint, and a little respect for the laws of hubris and karma?

What's that definition of insanity again?
Considering you're both lawyers, you each have a really interesting ability at reading comprehension. I never said we would beat them; I said that (the act of) beating them moves us into first place.

It was neither a prophecy nor talking shit. If it was either/both, it'd have been, we're gonna beat the shit out of Orlando and take first place like we own it.

Fair enough.

'Course damn Chicago is also in the way now too. And the Crew can jump ahead, helped by an extra game played. But let's look at some secondary positives:
  • At 5+, we have the 3rd best GD in the league, behind only Portland and Atlanta, who each built their GD by destroying the Loons before they tightened up their defense a bit.
  • Last year GD after 6 games was -1.
  • We are 1 of 5 teams with an average GA <1.
  • Last year we gave up 10 goals in the first 6 games; this year half that amount.
  • Tied for 4th in GF, pending a possible drop below Minnesota and/or Columbus before the round ends.
Other note is so far we are completely un-streaky. L-W-D-W-L-W. Let's hope that changes against Orlando.

Have RB TV broadcasts always used the home team on the right graphic format? I don't remember it being that way last year.

This had me confused too. I don't think they did this before (nor should they be doing it now).

All good points. Also worth noting that our schedule has been fairly easy with only 2 games against teams over the line.

I'm not gonna go there, because then I want to go to secondary and tertiary and beyond: how good really are the teams we played which means looking how good are the other teams they played, and what are all of their H/A splits? Is Orlando good or is it just that they played 4 of 5 at home? Is Montreal bad or is it just they played only 2 of 6 games at home? There's way too much noise in the data. At least our H/A is even right now.
And thanks for confirming what I noticed about the RB graphic.

They were killing it in stoppage time last year too. Cardiac kids.

Of course, they bossed the game enough that it shouldn't have taken that long.

Kreis has them playing well (much as that might be hard for many to admit).

I was actually talking about Montreal and Orlando, but equally pertinent as you interpreted it.
