Toronto got things going with a nice dismantling of Houston. Jozy's brace was big, but Houston's defense is suspect. The big accomplishment is shutting them out. Toronto has been playing well defensively and appears to be rounding in to form.

Nine games today - mostly tonight. Dallas hosting Portland is most interesting.

Dax coming back to RBA is most interesting.

"They have created a lions den [dramatic pause] where no one comes out alive." Oh the English Unimás commentators, how I have not missed you

Can anyone stop Jason Kreis and Orlando City?

6 points clear in the East with a game in hand still.

Orlando vs. Atlanta will be fun.

Except for last week, all of those wins are at home. And last week was a ref-Fck. Orlando isn't that good - Larin and Spector and Bendick are and those three can't keep stepping up every game.

Anybody else think this should be an own goal? Lodeiro provides the impetus but the Rev defender redir cuts it away from the spot the GK dove towards and back to the spot he left. Without the deflection there's a decent chance of a save.

I think it's an own goal if it's off target (which I think it was, but that's arguable I guess)

It's a goal if the shot was on target regardless if it could be saved. Remember Game 1, Kaka's free kick (I don't even think it was going on target) but massive deflection by Jeb!

I did some not-dispositive research and the consensus is with you, but apparently it's by convention not rule, and sometimes the "but the keeper would have saved it" rule is applied. But "was it on target before the deflection" seems to be the majority rule.

LAG is so bad this season they could only manage a 0-0 draw with Philly at home. Yikes.
It's going to be rough for them if they don't get sorted out by next season.

LAFC is going to hit like a freight train just like ATL UTD this season.

The days of MLS gift wrapping presents to LAG is over. No more special cap rules for them. No more "how the hell did LAG snag THAT player." And until a change is made by their front office, no more elite coaches (sigi & arena). The LAG hit it big for a while with their DPs, especially because LD wasn't initially counted as one and they found a diamon in Keane, but as of late they are very meh. I fully expect them to regress to a level just above mediocrity for 3-5 years.

I like to liken Orlando this season to last seasons Leicester City, a team that was probably midtable but managed to outperform themselves at every single given opportunity. Everyone was playing their best possible soccer nearly every game. I think that's what Orlando is doing right now, playing their best possible soccer every single game. This is also known as a hot streak, and the big question is can Orlando keep it up.

History points to no, but freak chances happen and its entirely possible that Orlando can ride high all season.

The alternative is that Orlando reverts to the mean, which would probably look something like Philly from last year, amazing all conquering start and didn't win a game after august.

Their hot streak has already gone longer than anyone reasonably expected. They could pull a Philly, but reverting to the mean doesn't mean you balance a streak with an opposite streak. It just means being ordinary from now on, or playing as expected. If Orlando wins only 1/3 of their remaining Home games that will be 9 home wins. Last year only 2 teams with 9 Home wins or more didn't make the playoffs: the Revs who had only 2 road wins and Portland with zero road wins. Orlando already has 1 road win (thanks to us). Mediocre play from now on should put Orlando in the playoffs. What they would do there is another matter, but even if they limp there I want no part of them given our record against.
