MNUFC Postmatch

Geez, we do not know why Mata got reinjured. It could be from rushing back, or maybe that felonious tackle that KLawrence put on him against RB. He went down there and most people didn't expect him to play this match even if he hadn't left yet for Costa Rica NT duty.

his situation and Pirlo's are not comparable.

ill leave it there... u seem to want to make excuses for some and not others. and your opinions are facts and mine are projections.

You want me to buy you a beer, fine, I'll buy you a beer sans any bet.

Pirlo has been healthy for a few games now and we've been missing Maxi and he still hasn't gotten playing time except as mop up duty. We even tried Jack in the role and have used TMac with all of his deficiencies. Pirlo still wasn't the answer and it's his normal position. Stop being argumentative for the sake of arguing. It's tiring to refute everything on a damn iPhone.

It kills me to say it... but this is spot on.

I think if you look at my posts, I defend even the guys people ridicule. You're barking up the wrong tree with that angle.

btw it wasnt about the beer it was about the fun part of it being a bet. I have no issue buying you a beer, id be happy to stand side by side with you beers in hand and cheer on our boys. ALL of our boys =P

What position did Pirlo play yesterday?

Also, he either looked like he had a limp or was just really out of shape

Most advanced midfield most of the time from what I could tell. Occasionally he would drop back deeper, but I feel like PV's instructions to Herrera and Ring were, "if you can't see Pirlo between yourself and our attacking goal, retreat like your ass is on fire."

Did anybody else notice that Sweat, for part of the game, was playing an inverted FB in the middle of the field in front of the CB's when we pressed forward??? I couldn't tell if it was planned or just where the play panned to, but since we tried it with RJ last year, I wasn't surprised to see it with Sweat since he is a bit more mobile and adds to the attack. By the end he was definitely back playing on the sideline.

I noticed it more with Sal. But now that you mention it, NoSweat was doing it a bit, too. I think the plan was let Ben get forward more. I still don't care much at all for Ben's (non) defending, but he's technical enough that I can live with him as our backup LB.

Follow-up question: should Lopez be moved permanently to RB? Looked to be his most competent ever performance.

I liked Mikey on the wing as RB because with the sideline he only had to worry about what was in front of him. He's damn fast which is key for offensive forays and his touch was better than ever before. I was scared when any highballs came his way, and that should be a consideration, and we were lucky MNUFC can't press and plays a collapsing defense because I'd really be queasy watching him break a press. White is still our best defender at RB and give an option for a back three after substitutions. So does Sweat, so I guess we have options on which side we game plan to attack/sit-defend.
