NASL has lost D2 sanction.

It’s refreshing to see that there isn’t a lot of celebrating on this forum about today’s announcement.

It’s not a day to celebrate. A lot of people no longer have jobs because of the way things have gone down over the last 9-12 months. San Fran wins NASL and they fold, Miami FC made a great run in the US Open Cup and now their league folds, Cosmos fans must be crushed.....

To add to this a little.......

The first pro soccer I ever took my sons to was the Cosmos at the Ft.Lauderdale Strikers (during what would end up being the Strikers final season). I just saw a video of the Ft.Lauderdale stadium on Twitter and the weeds on the pitch are 6 feet high. It’s depressing.

Now Miami FC have essentially been sent packing.

David Beckham has his work cut out in South Florida.

It's sad, but nobody to blame but NASL. All of the defunct clubs (SFD, FTL) went under because they failed, not because NASL folded. Several others went onto a more sustainable league. NY Cosmos and Miami existed for reasons other than building a solid club.
This league was launched by a massive criminal organization and once the gov shut them down, all the laundered, bribed and extorted money was gone.
The few remaining clubs could have moved to USL if they chose another path.

Hate Pro Rel morons, but people lost their jobs, and there is nothing funny about that.
