New York Cosmos surive & move to Coney Island

Ehh its a 7500 seater and it looks like they've got most of it open. Id guess 5500 once you count the general admission area.

Of course the stadium has 2500 of standing room that you can open up if necessary, so they're filling her to right around half way, with a sold out crowd.

Idk. I've been there. That red endline section if half the stadium. If they aren't selling those 4 413Blue is pretty accurate.

I've never been there, your opinion is significantly more creditable than mine.

It also happens to make more sense the way 413 posits. A team does not go out of buisness, magically resurrect itself, move to a totally different stadium in what amounts to being a totally different town and expect to suddenly double its average attendance.

sorry ill be in the bronx seeing nycfc

Wasn't the NASL schedule released after the required date in order to be eligible for the US Open Cup?

yep ...but US soccer has not released anything in terms of pro team involved....many think they will get a waiver due to everything that happened in the offseason.

Are they on crack??! No, serious question. This is what they are worrying about. Wow.

After an idiotic quote from that bald headed bastard... its pretty clear they are smoking crack and meth and doing LSD...

I use to be smoking the same crack...... Thank god my NYCFC friends did an intervention got me to Football Rehab and now I am a productive soccer Citizen in mls..... no longer in back alley filth ridden sewage of nasl or the coney island cosmics wasting away in minor league nothingness

Miami FC vs Cosmos playing at Coney Island on Saturday 4/1, broadcast live on channel 11. So maybe we can all watch Poku play again. Oddly though the TV listing says Shuart Stadium for some reason.

And how do I know this? Because I've seen probably four commercials for it during the Mets game today. Yup, that's the way to do it.

I think they're paying to be on Channel 11. Or their owner is pulling some if his media/tv strings. No way an NASL team on One World Sports last year is now on basic cable.

All of that is possible. I'm thinking that not considering that however, it's a lot easier to televise events at Coney Island as it already has the infrastructure for broadcasting as the Cyclones have a number of games televised during the year. Perhaps a hidden benefit of moving the team there.

They were all over the UniMas broadcast of the WCQ. "#NYCoriginal" or some trash like that.

Good to see them doing some marketing. Will this be just like the last round when the criminals did a ton of marketing up front and then went into oblivion for a couple years before collapse, or will they sustain this level of marketing until they actually have something that can stand on it's own?

If they do well, hopefully our club will take a lesson and launch an aggressive marketing campaign to start driving up demand.

they have only one game on PIX from what i recall...the rest of the games are on one of the MSG networks....so i guess they got to go all out on the only game they have there ( unless they move other MSG games to PIX), such as playoffs)

i personally seen the commercials in NY1 and the spanish NY1....i havent see the commercial at other times though in UDN though.

and its true NYCFC should promote more in NY1 and other local networks that can only help ( outside of YES network of course)
