Nil Satis Nisi Optimum--official Everton Thread

No way. Mirallas is a Champions League caliber player. Lennon is a cast off.

Unfortunately, Mirallas has to be sold now. The sooner the better.

And after what transpired apparently yesterday, maybe it's time for Naismith to wear the Captain's Armband. Very dissapointed in Jags.

Maybe so, but I think to take Everton to the next level a player like Lennon would be more valuable, and then the team should focus on Champions League players, which I'm not sure Mirallas is.

I don't know how I would feel about swapping Mirallas for Lennon. If it was Lennon plus cash it might be worth it, especially if he actually wants to be here. No secret that we need solid play on the wings. Mirallas wants Champions League play though, and a move to Spurs is not exactly a guaranteed door there. I would say I'd rather take the money for Kev, but his stock likely went down a bit after yesterday and we'd have a hard time replacing him this window in any other way. The big question is what kind of effect is this going to have on team morale and his effort. If Kev turns toxic after this then I'd rather have Lennon in a heartbeat, comparable skills or no.

As for Jags, I'm also conflicted. He couldn't have expected it to have happened, hence he was tying his boot when the problems started. Then Baines didn't put up too much of a fight (other than a light slap or two) and so Jags wouldn't have had a lot of time to get up there and get it sorted. Still, excuses only go so far. Plus, who else could realistically take the armband? Baines is obviously too meek to take on that role. Naismith isn't meek, but doesn't give me a strong leadership vibe. The rest are either too young, too old, or too irrelevant.

Famous folks love their football (they’re just like us!), and WWE superstars are no exception. Daniel Bryan, an 8-time WWE world champion, pledged his support for Everton yesterday

Ok Lennon that's good!Hopefully we can turn that into a permanent deal at the end of the season! Now let's send Dystain to West Ham for Winston Reid!

I read that Reid has turned down all offers to join Spurs on a free this summer. That would've been some solid business though.

So you guys get Lennon and keep a hold of Mirallas for the time being? Pretty awesome deal if you ask me!

I think Mirallas wants out, which is ok with me if we get the right price for him, he has been good for us but I think that PK is unforgiveable.
Missed that whole thing, but what happened with the PK?

Mirallas had been on a great run of form leading up to west brom,so when Everton were awarded a pk,he took the ball and walks through some of the everton players who expected our normal pk taker Leighton Baines to take it,so Baines walked up to Mirallas and talked, but Mirallas ended up taking it,and he missed wide left!Ill try and get a video of it on here.
