Nil Satis Nisi Optimum--official Everton Thread

Enjoyed our day watching the champions elect yesterday, goodison really is something else! No problem with the Everton fans think it would have been a different story if we had sat in the red dippers end.
City fans and aguero getting a lot of praise for stopping the game when a fan had an epileptic fit.
Like Everton as a fan base and club ,hard to imagine they are from the same city as the most deluded fans in the world the red dippers !

I wonder if the terror felt today during the very real minutes when we thought Barnsley might knock us out of the League Cup will have any effect on the end of the transfer window?

After last season, I wouldn't call it terror, so much as bitter resignation. Glad we pulled through though. It might light a fire, but it's a bit late to be picking new targets.

Glad to see Aaron Lennon made a permanent member of the squad today.

I'm a little surprised that Luke Garbutt was loaned out, really, given that Everton's bench is not terribly deep and he's a pretty good player. Maybe he was just going to sit too much with Delofeu, Cleverly and Lennon in the roster now.

Glorious 3-1 win over Chelsea today, worth getting up at 7:30 AM for. Sure, Chelsea are in awful form right now, but for the most part Everton played really well. And what a crazy plot point, Besic going off with an injury almost immediately, everyone feels trepidation when Naisy comes on to replace him, and then Steven pulls off a perfect hat trick for the win to continue his tradition of scoring against those bastards from the Bridge. Could have easily been a 4-1 or 5-1 but for some great saves by Begovic.

This scary run of fixtures hasn't been SO bad...

So disappointed in our boys today, or Martinez, or both, for coming out at the half so absurdly complacent with the 0-2 lead. Bournemouth had been fighting hard and were obviously only going to fight harder, and they deserved their point completely. Totally indefensible to just switch off at 45 minutes that way.

And the utter failure to defend the brief 2-3 lead feels depressingly like justice after the second half performance up to then. How do you not just pull all ten men back to the six yard box and build a wall for the last seconds of the match? Inexplicable.

Sigh. We need these points. This is the most critical part of the season if we want a high finish.

I heard that the former owners of the San Diego Padres are planning a £200,000,000 takeover of the toffees.
The group trying to buy the toffees had previously tried to buy into Swansea, but met stiff opposition from the fan trust that didn't want to sell their stake in the swans.
