So says Grant Wahl just now.

He says he has heard from multiple people connected to both NYC and MC that Kreis is in serious danger of losing his job. If/when that occurs, PV will step into his place. PV is apparently extremely hungry for a first team top slot.

Continuing the rumor, apparently Chicago is making the most noise to then pick up Kreis.

Not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, he's an "up-and-coming" coach who I've heard good things about. He would also probably be good for the development of guys like Poku, Mix, Shelton, and Facey if he stays.

On the other hand, he has no first team experience, and I feel like this is another step toward MCFC treating NYCFC as their feeder team, or another step on their developmental ladder. I'd expect a full four EDS loans under Viera every year, and then Viera only lasting here a few years before he goes back to Europe for a "promotion."

I still don't want to get rid of Kreis, but if he does leave, CFG needs to get something in return and not just release him.

This is MCFC taking more control. I know you all want Kreis out at any cost, but this is going to lead to more Lampard-like clusterfucks. Without a doubt.

There are very few managers that could have succeeded with our garbage pail of a backline, and we're replacing a guy who led RSL to an MLS Cup with a guy who has zero first team management experience. Good lord.

Certainly a big name, but the concerns over his lack of MLS or first team coaching experience are valid.

I'm on the fence over this "feeder club" stuff. Sure, it's a little demeaning, but on the one hand, what a team to be a feeder club for! Premier league champions (recently); a team not short of a few bob; more decent youngsters than they can play in the first team...

And on the other hand, we're still a very young club, playing in a league that, while it is growing, is still a relative minnow in the world league.

If we were a feeder team to Barnsley, or Raith Rovers and being forced to play their cast-offs, that would be one thing. Would anyone complain if we were Barcelona's feeder club? If so, your concerns are over being anybody's "bitch" and I think we should take all the help we can get.

I don't care about perception. If we win, perception will take care of itself.

Now, I do have concern about whether this can help us win. I think it would be hasty to pull the plug on Kreis. I also think that MLS teams need a coach that can work well with American players, who don't have the same relationship to authority that Europeans are used to. That doesn't mean an MLS coach has to be American, but it can't be a European - my way or the Eurorail - kind of guy.

Replacing Kreis with Viera is CFG once again treating NYCFC as a feeder club.
THANK YOU!

I feel like I'm the only one that sees this.

Jesus Christ, we don't even get original jerseys and now they're planning on training their future coaches by having them coach here? For fucks sake this isn't what I thought I was in for when this team was pitched. It's a disgrace to have a top tier NYC team be a feeder to a team in Manchester of all places.

i dont want to become a revolving door of coaches type club. ( i already have chivas and the mexican national team and even to smaller extent the knicks for that) ...i understand people are frustrated but damn guys its the first freaking year of a teams existence and already heads rolling i dont think viera is going to be an " upgrade" right away. Its like starting again from zero with someone getting "used to the league" and maybe not getting the results wanted.

still i never liked grant wahl hope he is wrong

Empire of Soccer said they're hearing the same things. I trust them.
We'll see if their article adds any details. If nothing else, it's been a banner day for getting me to click on things I normally ignore.

I don't care I love this. I just don't like what Kreis has done this season. That being said trade his ass for some allocation $$$ or a draft pick.

How do you have any confidence that Viera will do any better? If MCFC twitter is to be believed, he plays people out of position more often than Kreis.

Kreis isn't the answer and the "he's a proven winner" bull shit needs to stop. He has done NOTHING good. His draft picks to his line up choices and has been tactically inept.
