NYCFC in the Media Thread - 2017

I wonder how many of those points were grabbed when we were missing one of Ring, Herrera or Maxi. Stated another way, how many of those points were grabbed when Pirlo or Lopez started the match?

We played differently when Okoli came on the other night

Not just the other night but also LA and RB. He changed the energy in all of them.

Just saw a great NYCFC commercial during the Sounders/Timbers game on FS1. Tried looking for it on YouTube but it must be new. It was promoting the game on September 9th.

New York City FC: Center back
With Maxime Chanot likely out at least until the start of the playoffs, the center back position on Patrick Vieira's team is one of some concern. While Alexander Callens has been stellar for much of the season, there's a reason that Vieira and Claudio Reyna went out and acquired the Peruvian to replace Frederic Brillant this past winter. Brillant has been fine – so far – since coming back into the XI, but the real test will come when the playoffs arrive. If anything should happen to either of those two, Vieira will have to get very creative to compensate.

This post came out a week ago, but I hadn't seen it until today. Picking the CBs seems lazy. Especially when it talks about the depth for the playoffs, but also stating that Chanot will be back by then. Brillant has been great as a starter.

Bigger concern is straight up injuries How could it be anything else?

I would say biggest concern is outside backs. They don't have a top quality RB (White and/or Allen are not it) and LB is either Matarrita's ghost - seems like he has been out all season - or Sweat who has been an admirable fill-in but not top MLS quality. Compare that to Polster/Vincent or Morrow/Beitashour.

Yes there are injuries but with the top 11 only RB is not a true quality player.
