NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

That 3rd goal was on Lewis.

Team has spoken to 2 LBs. I don't know if either gets done. One is the Czech player from Legia Warsaw. The other is a young French player.

Anyone know how many international spots we have? I know Callens just got a green card. Do we get the spots for Herrera and Hountondji back because they are out for the season? Since we added two internationals already do we have a spot for a lb or is someone on their way out?

accurate and factual
Accurate and factual doesn't mean relevant. You wrote three paragraphs about Mata sucking at defending and Sweat being a good value.

The latter is a good enough answer to why you defend him, and fair play to you for it. But I still don't see a reason to reply to any of it specifically because, as I said, if I grant everything you said to be 100% true, it doesn't contradict my contention that Sweat isn't good enough to be our starting LB.

From my perspective, it could be argued that you moved the goalposts by attempting to turn it into a Sweat vs. Mata debate. That's probably a debate worth having, but it's not an argument I've introduced here. We can do that if you insist, but we should find/start another thread. And full transparency, I won't care who wins because I will still want us to sign a LB.

To briefly address your personal attacks, let me point out that you could probably say "pretty much everyone at some point". Oh, and it has pretty much nothing to do with my ego - I'm confident that it's all down to my admittedly caustic sense of humor/over-exposure to crass sitcom dialog.

You’re right! Just find an unused lot. Don’t ask permission. Don’t file permits. Start building. In 10 years: adverse possession! Genius!
whoops, just noticed I meant to put this into the stadium thread! :O (mod can you transport us there on your magic teleporter thanks <3)
but yes, that's the only way to properly build stuff!

What's so hard about building a stadium anyway? Just plop a giant round building onto the ground. Problem solved. /s

Leslie Knope it!

Why not? According to Klinsmann, anyone can play left back.
Thats a mischaracterization of Klinsmann’s rational. Because he trusted no one else, he was forced to sacrifice Johnson’s attacking quality and pin him as a LB. I could feel his pain and plight in the situation. He may not have made the right choices... but he had good reasons.

Kilns should have adopted a 3 at the back much earlier.

My dream replacement for villa is edison cavani, he is a big enough name to generate buzz, seems to be on the way out at psg, he plays with a ton of passion and would be a statement signing as he would have at least a few more years where he could in the conversation for top striker in europe. I know it seems like a pipe dream but that is at least the caliber of player I want to see take up villa's DP spot

Plus it would clear up some playing time for Timothy Weah (overlaps what I just posted in the USMNT thread)
