NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

I feel it's one of those running jokes sports teams play on their rookies.

You know, where the team makes up some ridiculous lie and sees how long they can keep the rookie believing before he realizes it must be bullshit.

Only, we're the rookies.

Oh man I couldn't stop laughing at that joke.... wait, the jokes on us.

So the guy that I have been tooting about for a while now, Roman torres the panamanian center back has had a killer tournament imo. So solid…anyone think there is a shot in hell we can get him?

I have a feeling gieger ruined our chances with his awful officiating.

edit-

A back four of

Angelino--------------------------------Iraola
----Mena/Facey----------------Torres-------

uh, got me droooooling.

Would love this guy when lampard retires and we get a free dp slot. Rafeal santos borre.

Great young striker from colombia. A lot of potential.

So I was playing some FIFA with my roommate yesterday before the match and decided to give it a go with the Galaxy, and this got me thinking....what if we traded our allocation money to LAG for Alan Gordon instead? With the plethora of strikers they have coming in, his minutes should be dropping a bit, and we could use a great target man. I would like to think LAG would be somewhat open to moving him.

Checked his salary and he's only making $175,000. I know we got an extra international spot, but we could have cut somebody else to make up for it (cough Nemec cough).

Now I understand that just allocation money for Gordon may not be an equitable trade, but its worth a thought. Your guys' thoughts?

I don't think that LA would trade Gordon. He's too valuable to the team, especially at that price.

We can also probably get a better target man than Nemec for his 300k, too.
In the league? I wonder who would trade with NYC? Montreal, Portland, Colorado just signed new DP strikers. Anyone there surplus to requirements (never used that term before)?

Are we sure we can't send him back? How's MC look on homegrowns?

I really, really wish he would go away.

Best idea out there. This works for everyone, we get our DP spot, Frank doesn't have to keep pretending that he cares about our team and league when he clearly doesn't, the English fans get their beloved Frank back and save themselves all the time they spend on message boards lecturing us about how much of a class act Frank is and how lucky we are to have him. What's the downside?

Those guys are worth more to their teams than Villa is to our team because of their salaries

Watching this video got me wondering: how many header goals do we have?

I can think of 1: Mullins garbage put back for goal #4 against TFC at YS

Does anyone know? Do we have any others?

Could be wrong but I think that's the only one.

I'm not calling for a return to Nemec but 1 header for the season, and a garbage one at that, is less than impressive.
I actually wouldn't mind giving Nemec another go. With Pirlo and/or Lampard feeding balls in and Villa right next door he might be able to get it together and give us another option. Worth a shot, I think.
