This makes Mata even more valuable. If he has the year that some of us expect, I would not be opposed to throwing some near DP money at him to get him to stay.

This sounds truly insane. Unless he's completely lost it, I can't imagine this would be the case for someone with several years of high-end football ahead of him. Even his Twitter poems don't suggest that level of crazy.

Anyway, I hope he winds up somewhere else in MLS. If only to give us closure on whether or not he could have done a job for us. Otherwise we'll never truly know and can keep arguing about it, and that's the most terrifying thing of all.

Farewell, Mix. I'm sorry I never got the D-I-S-C-O chant to catch on. (That Eye of the Tiger one was truly shit)

From what I am piecing together, if Mix wants to play in MLS he would have to agree to a mutual termination because of the no trade clause. This is the largest contract that he will likely ever get so I would not hold it against him for milking it.

As I've mentioned in the Mix thread that's a BS statement from Twellman. He had NOTHING to say the entire time this thing transpired. Then suddenly after Mix is cut he has quotes and sources. It's a bush league move from him. I usually like him but I think he's throwing shit out because he knows no one will question it.

I think he's capable and has all the tools. Plus with Wallace in front, he will flourish even more.

Whether Twellmann is talking out of his ass or not, "have told me he seems" does not imply Mix spoke those words. Probably just their impressions that they got from him preferring to chill in NY over playing. But yeah it sounds like bullshit either way.
