In a landmark new partnership, a first for either club in the region, Manchester City, New York City FC and Digicel will work together on a range of community initiatives, unique content interaction across broadcast, digital and mobile, promotional opportunities, VIP attendance at games at Yankee Stadium in New York to enjoy the MLS as well as at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester to enjoy Premier League games. The partnership will also see collaboration on Digicel’s marquee Digicel Kick Start coaching programs across 15 markets annually with further coaching programs for the top selected players to take place in the training Academies of New York City FC, Manchester City FC and Melbourne City FC for up to 24 young aspiring football players in total.

Don't want to derail the thread but something I'd like to see once our academy is up and going, is CFG bringing in promising international youth players maybe not good enough for the mothership into our academy so we can have them as homegrown. In addition of course of local tristate talent.

Is there an academy yet?..

Wow that's interesting they previously only announced they were only doing u13/u14 but that page says up to u18 will be practicing.

I think that's a placeholder for later. If you read the text inside that section, it only talks about trialling players born in 2001 and after. That's 14 year olds and younger.

yes i was always under the impression it will start with 14 year olds that will "grow" into the U18 in a few years
