NYCFC Training Facility Thread

I work in Philly now but my family is still in westchester until the school year is up. I headed back to Philly a little early tonight and swung by to find the place. Later this week, I'll be in Montvale so I'm going to head over.
If you are ever back when we have an away game, let’s get a Westchester/Rockland crew together.

Pretty sure we own a lot more of the land and will expand when we need to.

You guys probably know more than me, but I thought that when they announced the purchase we spent some time going backwards and forward over maps of the location and thought there wasn't much room for expansion?

I'll take pictures of this this Wednesday, but there are two plots of land here. On one side of the road, you have a fully developed facility for World Class FC. There are paved parking lots with 40 foot lighting structures. There is a large indoor facility/office space of some sort. Then you have 4 shortened fields, side by side. Beyond that, there are basketball courts and a playground. It starts to look like a generic park beyond that.

On our side of the street, you have our facility coming into focus. If you were to go due north of our facility, there is already development, mostly existing soccer fields and a baseball park with stands. The grading is higher there as well. You can't develop in that direction without bulldozing community space. On the end of our development, you run into a main road. There is probably some space to get closer to the road, but we're talking 100 yards MAYBE.

I'll have a better vantage point in the light, but it looks like there wouldn't be anywhere to go. I believe that our facility backs up against office space and dormitories on the other side.

Yes, I was at the Chalk Talk regarding this site (and other infrastructure developments). Essentially there's one tablet right now. A tablet is their term for essentially 1.5 pitches where the main pitch can be rotated on a daily basis (spraying new lines) so the grass doesn't take as much damage.

There is also land to create another 1 full sized pitch. That land though is not being developed yet.

I’m confused, and knowing CFG we won’t get an answer right away, but we will be using 2.5 fields for 4-5 of our team’s, not including if we get a USL team? Seems a little cramped. Also seems like they would need to do a hell of a lot of pitch rotation.

It's intended right now to be only the training facility and used for the first team. There are no plans to house the USL team there now.

The World Class FC facility has 4 fields right across the road. Like 20 feet away.

My understanding is the youth teams will still train and play at St. John's

Academy teams don't train every day and they don't use a full pitch for training. Also, they train in the evenings whereas the first team trains in the morning/afternoon.

I'll start with the images across the street from our training facility. These are the (artificial) fields for World Class FC. There are 6 full size pitches and a clubhouse
