Nycfc V Charleston

We couldn't have won the tournament anyway. Whatever the result of the early game, we would have been left at least four points below the leader.
If the early game was a draw, Houston and Charleston would be on four points, otown with three, and we on one. If we then one the nightcap by two goals we could have won, but that is a moot point now

If Houston and Crystal Meth SC had tied and we beat Charleston by 2 goals or more, we'd win because of goals scored.

Mix played like an easy shout for MLS best 11. He really helps us work through (or bypass working through) the midfield. I feel like we dominated possession, but sill looked shaky at the back the few times they got through the middle of the field.

We could have had a couple of more goals.

Nemec was disappointing. For as good as he looked, Grabavoy actually squandered a couple of chances to put folks in or get it on frame. Calle missed what should have been a sure goal by Janikowski-ing another one, but did have a few good moves. Velasquez and Ballouchy were what you would expect if you've seen them previously (meaning below average with moments where they almost look dangerous before squandering it).

I was scaredd that Charleston was going to knock out our entire lineup with some of the challenges they were putting in.

I wasn't too impressed with the way our midfield played today, and Mix in particular. Every touch was back to where the ball came from. There was never any recieving the ball, and turn and look. No playing up through the middle.
And I really wasn't too satisfied at the end of the game when we'd have good chances and no one would pull the trigger. They're all looking to creating the easy empty netter, but you have to take the shots you're given. Too cheeky for me..

If that's the last match NYCFC plays for a while (with a strike looking inevitable) I think I could live with that. Great performance that we haven't seen since the St. Mirren match. Still lots of room for improvement. But let's hope if the players do strike it's not for too long!
