NYCFC v Cosmos

This is a good team. They lead the NASL, and that league is on break, so they are 100% focused on us. This is their biggest game of the year, we will get their starters who will give 100%.
Actually they are in second place and haven't locked up a playoff spot yet. They're coming into the match pissed off which could lead to them reaching at opportunities. If NYCFC stays calm and composed, it'll play into our hands.

Already seen Cosmos fans on twitter complaining about "having dogs on them"

As if Claudio Reyna will be standing there holding a barking dog on a leash as their fans enter. I hope these people never have to travel through an airport.

Wait until Claudio hands the dog the John Patricof and goes ahead and fires up his water cannon. All joking aside, I hope that this can remain somewhat civilized...it is a Wednesday ffs.

Everything is considered civilized when compared to the Russian fckup ultras. Those are the fckers that should be water cannoned and then fed to the dogs.

["everything" is of course tongue in cheek and there's a lot that should not go on. still, the Russian ultras definitely should be on the menu for Rin Tin Tin.]

I didn't even know there were such a thing as a "pyro sniffing" dog

Is this a first for MLS team? Where there are dog sniffing k9's for security ?

Really? Not when I went this year for nycfc match....or at least I didn't see them
yup they do. Didn't seen them this year either but have seen them in a previous life at Red Bull game

Nice writeup by Empire of Soccer

The turf at Coffey Field was tall in some areas but flatter elsewhere. It’s somewhere in between the hard, unforgiving surface like that at Shuart Stadium and it’s softer counterpart at Providence Park. Like Shuart, the field will have non-soccer lines painted over but the Fordham logo at midfield will remain.

NYCFC are ‘playing it by ear’ when it comes to holding future Cup matches at Fordham. It is unclear whether they have applied to host the next round of matches which would be held June 29. Yankee Stadium is unavailable that day and it is uncertain if other options inside New York City are possible. If City were to make a run to the Open Cup final on Sept. 21, it may have Yankee Stadium available as the Yankees would be on an eleven-day road-trip at that time.

I like that the Cosmos have trouble scoring away from home, 6 goals in 5 road games

If dog's can be trained to sniff for bedbugs & cancer, then they can pretty much be trained to sniff for anything.
