Dan, pretty sure you do all this on your free time as well. So thanks for that. Love this site and most the people here too. Lots of useful info being thrown around. Also if you ever need staff help count me in. Would love to help out.
Definitely as we get closer to the season we will.
I appreciate the kind words! At the moment the three of us can more than handle things as we are all on at different times with @Falastur being in the Uk so it offsets really good. But once we roll into 2015 and have a full squad there will be tons to talk about and we will definitely be doing some recruiting

For the record, I definitely wasn't suggesting Dan or any other mods were in on some scan. Like I said in another thread I've heard some claims lately and it made me wonder about some of these low post count users on this thread.

Just thought it was interesting and wanted to put it out there for other users and the mods to look at.

Ditto. No disrespect to the admin/mods here. We appreciate what you do for us. But you may have been infiltrated for nefarious purposes!

Beating a dead horse here, but perhaps something simple as this tweak just may have alleviated a lot of angst. ;)

I have no insider information on the kits (and I don't work for NYCFC, I promise!), but I'd guess this will be something that is done in future versions of the home kit.

That would've been a perfect kit. Oh well, at least ours don't look as bad as FC Dallas' kits this season

Coming from an American who happens to be a fan of both MCFC and the NY Yankees, this was a match made in heaven. When the home uniform was unveiled I had to admit I was a bit disappointed. Not because it looks bad, or because it looks close to MCFC, but because the team had a real opportunity to carve an identity. The sky blue color, the Yankee pinstripes, a hint of orange- all could have blended as beautifully as the logo did. That's a great looking logo, knocked it out of the park.

I may not buy the home jersey, will wait and see what the away kit looks like, or buy the track jacket. Will see...In any case, I'm still a fan since day 1. Can't wait for 2015!

What the hell is up with people complaining about MCFC colors, then going on to request Yankee pinstripes? Man City USA is awful but Yankees FC isn't? Same principle.

Dude, are you f*&king kidding me? You think that I work for NYCFC or CFG? Why - because I disagree with you?

I work for a Canadian airline (and live in Calgary) which that takes me to several US some for 2 months at a time - which includes NY every summer. That's why I am season ticket holder. Maybe that's not good enough for you but it doesn't make my opinion less valid. And before you ask - No I am not a Man City fan. I follow Spurs.

Ok. That's plenty good enough for me. And thanks for telling me you're a Spurs fan, I wouldn't have asked.

To quote myself from higher up on this same page:

Sorry to have upset you. It was really nothing personal.

Because sky blue and pinstripes would at least be unique, which is the opposite of NYCFC is currently doing.

I agree with others who've expressed that overly Yankee-esque designs on a jersey would be reinforcing the ownership identity of our club, especially when worn at Yankee Stadium, and paired with a very Man City-esque home kit.

The Mets wear pinstripes too though. Just saying. They're royal blue instead of the Yankees navy blue. Maybe our kit will have sky blue pins as an accent. I'd be down for that, and though it may reinforce the Yankee connection, pinstripes are far from unprecedented on soccer kits. Sky blue pins would look pleasantly subtle on a white kit, in my opinion.

Ahab_Flanders Ahab_Flanders Don't buy into the idiots talking about the FO or MLS running or influencing Third Rail. If those guys won't speak up for themselves then I will. There's a bunch of stuff that's run poorly by Third Rail. I left the "board" for a bunch of those reasons. As great as the kid is and consider him a buddy, letting a 14-year old continually be your spokesperson is one of them. Another is the fact that the president is MIA most of the time.

However, the MLS employees thing is dumb. Ben Jata is a writer for MLS (not sure if that's even full time, but I doubt it) who is TRYING OUT for MLS teams not named NYCFC and didn't join the Third Rail board until at least August after me. The morons at RBNY and Cosmos have made that their rallying cry. It's dumb. The freakin guy is a fantasy soccer dude. He isn't Garber's son.

Besides Chance, these are 20-30 year old guys who wanted to have a supporters group and are learning on the fly about the club and about running a supporters club. There's been massive turnover from the beginning and the chanting and song "frat guys" are even out of the loop now.

Now, if the question is... when push comes to shove will TR ever speak out against the FO for fear of not being the MLS SC with tightest relationship to its club? Then, I think you're on to something.

This is probably better suited for Drainyoo Drainyoo or @Midas Mulligan post, but I've wanted to say something.

It has been done before though. I posted elsewhere on here, with kits changing every year or two in England it's getting harder and harder to design a kit that is unique. Especially if you're going to stick with sky blue, white and navy blue. Even look at a lot of kits released in the past few years and they are just templates that use different colours, badge and sponsor.

Have to say I don't particularly like pinstripes on football kits, this one looked ok at the time but looks very dated on the odd occasion you see this kit now.

I refer you to my post on another thread

Guys

Some of you need to calm down a bit...This is not the first team (in the opinion of the clubs supporters) to have a bad kit, did Cardiff City fans want red the other year ? (possibly not the best analogy but ...)

How many of you have actually built a brand, especially a corporate sporting brand.

Step 1. was purchasing MCFC, the club that they decided to base the brand on
Step 2 was the formation of CFG and the other clubs including NYCFC
Step 3 is to get the fanbase, a wholesale change away from Sky Blue now will alienate the MCFC (the biggest sector in the group)
Step 4 is to get the other teams playing. This and other forums will heat up then and the majority of the focus will move away from trivia such as trim on kit.
Step 5 is to get the clubs operating as one.... CFG will have come of age.

You can rest assured that as NYCFC develop there identity some of that will be spread throughout the group. Kit maufacturers / timings will be aligned and the identity will be born.

If we cannot play in Sky Blue in Australia, I can see a day coming when all of our kits are similar to the Melbourne one, heavily influenced with Sky Blue but more white.... I can also see the day coming where that kit has some kind of Orange flashing as a nod to you guys...........

Basically I think although we will all have our own individual territorial identities, globally the aim is to get us to look and feel the same

The CFG brand is coming (and I don't think all Man City supporters have grasped this aspect yet). In ten years time the whole group will have morphed in the way it looks and feels....

Does McDonalds or Subway look different in China or the UK on the outside?, no its just the menus that differ.

Sorry guys it is your job to support your team.

Leave the commercial team to look after the whole. We are a group, accept it, move on and get behind the club. If you are not going to buy the shirt of your team because it looks a bit like the shirt of another "group" club, then you are supporting the wrong team. You have chosen a team that is part of a group, and group identity will be the long term target.

The club are slowly moving towards there goal, and I bet us MCFC fans have to swallow some changes soon... But MCFC will always be MCFC and I will support them and (by association)the group regardless of the shirt.

Is this a serious statement? A 14 year old is the spokesperson for TR? Did not know that.
