Maybe a little mad that NYCFC didn't manage to sign him and get a cut, but that was always unlikely.

Not just aren't enforced, can't be enforced. Which is one more reason why MLS should be bending over backwards to play its kids, since that's the only way to keep them around long enough to get paid when they leave.
There's no case law establishing one way or the other. The federation and MLS have backtracked on previous statements made since Fraser. It's the players union that is gungho about not allowing training comp. or solidtary payments.

It's basically the Valencia Academy Director saying that technically the US isn't behind at these age levels. He also says that the next step for them is to have academy teams at younger ages than 12 so they can have more tactical familiarity. This article also really hypes up Mark Cajamarca.

I get that people want to sell on talent but until there's a reasonable avenue for MLS homegrowns to play here, you can't blame a Reyna or Mckennie.
There is a reasonable avenue - add them to the 18. Seriously. Vieira fcking turned his nose up to our youth players and many times we had only a single offensive player on the 18 - young Reyna could have been a second option and definitely gotten minutes. Those games when we only had Rodney Wallace as an attacking option with Mata as a late wing option was ridiculous considering Lewis was available and in addition we could have promised minutes to a future MNT Star like Reyna.
I don't think Gio is ready and we're not patient enough to wait it out.

The issue isn't Homegrowns. It's where they play while they develop. Sands needs fucking gametime. The kid needs to play and I hope we're not hurting his career by not giving him an opportunity. He and his family are happy but eventually they have to play.
Adams was a starter in the USL at Sand's age. That goes to show how important reserve teams are.
