Official Vent Thread

this is the fourth major thing that has happened to this car and I've been debating whether or not it's worth it to junk the car and get a better one, since I've spent easily $5,000 on this one already in two years, but that seems typical of old cars anyway. I just don't have the money to do that right now, juggling the insurance and my school tuition. :/
what kind of POS are you driving? doesn't sound like the ultimate driving machine...

2001 nissan altima.
When we got it we took to the mechanic to check if it was worth the $1200 price (with only 90,000 miles!), but no one spotted this shitty thing the prev owner did with the engine where they used some hack fix to make the engine seem like it's running properly- so when we bought it, a few days later we got an engine problem which my dad and I fixed ourselves (we had to change the gasket) which took us three days of man labor to fix... Then I had a problem with one of the front wheel's brake controller pieces which couldhave broken mid-drive and would have me spin out, and now this. (The other major thing was just me trying to go up a bad hill and my bumper decided to fall off so we ziptied it back up and it works lol.)

So it ain't the ultimate driving machine, but it'll last me hopefully until I get out of school, and once I get a job out of school, I'll be able to upgrade. At least, that's the plan in my head...

Stay the course and take your lumps as they come. It sucks but that's just how it goes with a vehicle that age. See if you can fix it yourself before paying that money out. Best wishes, man.

Tornado warning? Really? Wonder if one actually hit anywhere.
It was issued for my area of Nassau about 15 minutes ago and was uplifted now, but I wonder if one was actually down

I was just hitting golf balls in the middle of a massive dust storm in Arizona. It was wild. Apparently it made CNN breaking news for some reason.

Because there wasn’t anything else going on at that particular moment that they could call Breaking News.

The thunder/lightning was about 1sec apart - basically right above us. Was expecting another tornado alert... probably find out tomorrow that one touched down somewhere in the boroughs.
I was expecting that as well- there was a period of about 20 minutes or so (was about an entire game of FIFA18) of continuous just lightning-thunder-lightning-thunder, and then the power flickered in and out for us.

What's up with this crazy weather lately?

Hope everyone's safe though!

I posted the helicopters in the park photos to my neighborhood FB group and the comments turned into an argument about De Blasio because everything in that group turns into a De Blasio discussion. Amazingly, nobody has mentioned Trump yet.:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
