I was a little scared by that one. Thought they might have gone to VAR and decided it was a card. Which would have been very soft and terrible

Did he push the face or the chest? Seemed like the chest from my vantage point, and the guy crumpled so fast (didn’t they all, like they were coached to?) that it really seemed a bit contrived and simulated.

Only thing I can make of it is Chanot had shielded the defender off the ball and the play was clearly passing the defender and hand to the face was almost "after the fact" so giving Chanot a break. The ref did go and speak to Chanot when the ball was dead.

Great game and outstanding second half by the players but can we stop and talk about the pathetic attendance? 18.5k for a Saturday mid-afternoon game with nice weather? I understand that it's St Patrick's Day but that shouldn't keep that many people away. I'm really disappointed in the front office and how they're marketing this team to the metro NYC area.

Personally at least part of it for me was I did not want to brave a train from and back to Connecticut with the saint Paddy's day crowd if I'm being honest. Can't speak for people already in the city.

Well hand to face is a red card incident. There must have been a check by the VAR (Alan Kelly). The VAR determined there was not a clear and obvious error. If MLS DisCo were to come up with a different decision, then there's a difference in how the referees and the DisCo view incidents on the field. Which then opens up a new door of bullshit.

On the last play of the game, Vieira was complaining that Orlando made a back pass to the keeper. The referee didn't make the call and then proceeded to end the game. My recording of the game was cutoff from the late start. Did anyone get a good look at this play?

Yup, it was a back pass to the keeper. Should have been an indirect FK. My thought was “that’s a back pass! Thats a back pass! Eff it, games over.”

DisCo could also just decide to give him a fine instead of suspension
