Patrick Vieira Appointed As NYCFC Coach

Wait people still think Tata is a good manager?

He recruits well. Can't tell me he has nothing to do with all the talented players from South America going to Atlanta.

And I am not sure if its a good idea for Patrick, as a black man, to work in Italy. Heard some nasty things about some of the fans over there.

Read the article that Almiron put out there. Its 100% the reason he went to Atlanta

So, Vieira's last year under contract with NYCFC and Pep is extending to 2021. I don't think CFG can keep Vieira here for another 3 years. Maybe he goes to Girona in Spain to keep him within CFG?

I'd like him to extend for another 1-2 years. There are still things he needs to work on as a manager. Substitutions. In game tactical changes.

Why do you think he would leave? Amazing lineups and sub patterns? Tactical masterclasses?

His major upside is recruitment, really.

I have no clue what they are paying him.

That being said, PV will most certainly go back to Europe soon. This is a stepping stone for him. He was never taking over for Pep. Better chance that Arteta takes over for Pep.

If fucking Gary Neville can coach Villarreal, so can Veiera.

If the CFG masterplan is for Vieira to manage MCFC one day, then I'm pretty sure they won't need to keep him in the CFG family to persuade him when the time comes.

I fully expect him to take a job in Europe sometime this year, and that'll suck for us. By any possible quantifiable metric he's been great. And it's hard to think which replacement would command the same respect from players like Villa (although whether we ever sign a player of that calibre again is another story)

Just proves that these clubs in Europe aren't any smarter than anyone else

Certainly proves Peter Lim isn't smarter than anyone else.

(N.B.: Apparently he owns Ronaldo's image rights—suddenly all those terrible statues make sense.)
