That was good. Not necessarily "good enough", but "relatively good."

This. I was fully prepared for us to get washed but we pulled it off. I don't think we were great but the fast start carried us through. Felt so good to win and I hope the players can rest up enough to get after it again on Wednesday.

I jump on this bandwagon also. We were better and we were lucky. Sometimes those go together, if only because to score lucky goals you at least have to bang the ball in the area of the other team's goal.
First goal: corner. It was well taken and earned, but set piece goals are also kind of random, especially for this team. Had we not scored there none of us would have considered it a travesty, or unexpected. Getting the goal was fair, and a bit lucky at the same time.
Second goal: own goal. Very similar. We earned it with a solid attack. It was also a gift.
Philly's goal was simply well taken, earned, and fair.
NYC's third goal similarly well taken, earned and fair. It was also the most unrelenting swarming attack I can remember from us in months.
And the PK, I'm in the camp that it was a perfectly proper call yet also bad luck for NYC, then arguably poetic justice that SJ made what is a rare for him (I think) PK save.
I think overall the luck went with good play, and I won't feel bad or worry unduly about it.

But I am also a bit concerned we're still accumulating goals and xGoals with a multitude of "eh" chances without mixing in many great chances. And luck does not always follow good play. But the team showed more energy and activity in the first half than we've been used to lately. Cautious optimism is my default position, and is in effect for Wednesday.

Yeah, that third goal was an unrelenting attack. If I'm remembering correctly, we had a couple of chances at first that Philly kind of half-cleared, but then we started right back in with a few chances before David's eventual finish.

Sometimes our fans are just kinda mean.

I don't think it's unreasonable to have a higher bar for any player occupying one of the 3 DP slots. I'd argue that people have gone pretty easy on Medina's low (for a DP) output. There is certainly a more accommodating standard being applied this year to Medina (2018 6g, 7a, 2005 min played) than last season when people where calling Maxi (2017 5g, 9a, 2523 min played) a complete failure. If Maxi was a terrible disappointment last season as many claimed what's Medina this year?

On the flip side if Medina becomes as pivotal to the team next season in year 2 as Maxi did this year we will be in a really nice spot with him.
