- The MLS regular season ends Sunday, October 23. The playoffs probably start three days later with 2 single game matchups on Wednesday, October 26 and 2 single game matchups on Thursday, October 27.
- Round 2 : The Conference semi-finals are played over two weekends, October October 31 and November 5-6.
- Round 3 : The Conference finals are played over two weekends, TBD and TBD.
- The MLS Championship game has not yet been scheduled, but will likely occur either the weekend of December 3-4 or December 10-11.
Hopefully it won't be snowing in the Bronx in early December. Though it won't matter if our forums group trip is to LA or Dallas.
Avoiding the midweek play-in game is crucial. Not only extra game but leads to fatigued team for next round.
Appreciate that. So basically as soon as we clinch 1-2nd I'd be safe to book for One of those two weekends. Would just have to be sure that we'd host our home game on one or the other.
I think the top seed hosts the second weekend.

All this is correct.
Basically, if we finish 1st or 2nd, we will host a playoff game on Nov 5 or 6 (my birthday).
If we finish 3rd or 4th, we will host a playoff game on Wednesday or Thursday, Oct 26 or 27. If we win that game, we host again a couple days later on Sunday, Oct 31.
If we drop to 5th or 6th, we travel for that midweek game and host on Oct 31 if we win.

Thanks! Having a 2 week notice would definitely be ideal. Playing on Saturday would be even more ideal.
It's certainly not a given, but I think it's likely we finish 1 or 2 so here's hoping for more than one reason now.
Why are we even debating this? Dan should come up for a two week holiday in NYC and then not worry about the logistics.
Burned through all my vacation. My work week runs Sat-Fri so I can easily do Fri-Sun off. Or Sun-Mon.
Fri-Sun would be best.
Flights are cheap since Delta has a hub in LGA and TPA so I can fly nonstop round trip for $200 sometimes.
I think with how close 1-4 are in the Eastern Conference, playoff position will come down to Decision Day on October 23 will every MLS game kicking off at 4 PM.
It would be amazing if ESPN, FOX, and Unimas would use 10 networks for the games: FOX, FS1, FS2, FX, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Classic, Univision, Unimas.

They have in the past, but I believe that was when MLS was buying the airtime. If FOX airs games OTA, I don't see why ABC wouldn't.
That being said, they would not air a game at the same time of several other games on national tv.
