That's my point. If they win it again, then it opens another spot for the combined tableNope. Already in from USOC last year

It seems more than very likely that for NYC to finish ahead of Atlanta, we will have to do better enough on Away games to overcome what I expect will be ATL's advantage at home. I will very surprised if we match or exceed them in points won at home. But I also think that means this is a situation where there is almost only upside for us in this game. Any NYC result is huge, while a loss just holds serve.Up to date standings, (games remaining):
NYC 70 (29)
ATL 67 (29)
CLB 64 (28)
CHI 59 (30)
NJRB 56 (30)
POR 55 (30)
HOU 54 (30)
SEA 53 (31)
The Atlanta match coming up is HUGE.

It’s really just a three horse race now for that spot. I think we get it based on depth. Can’t wait for that scheduling fiasco for the front office and CONCACAF.
Citi can be our home CCL grounds. YS home for reg season.
Considering the way the CCL doesn't seem to draw very well for most MLS teams, I'd say it would be far more likely for us to host CCL at Fordham, or wherever we hosted that US Open Cup match a few years ago.
I thought we got banned from Fordham after the ruckus with the Cosmos.the issue with that is we dont know if it fulfills the capacity requirements and other stadium venue requirements for the CCL.....although its concacaf so who knows. but you sure as hell not hosting a nycfc vs chivas/ america or even something like nycfc vs toronto in that venue

I am also not sure it ever got past the rumor stage either, but it certainly could be true.lol totally forgot about that....but i thought it was the rumor going around not that it was official....but you could be right.

We are going to need a spot for US Open this year too, so it will be interesting to see how that shakes out.
i took quick look at potential june dates and i think all have yankees at home or less than three days after a home game. so i dont think we host it this year.

Whether or not we host it is up to the people running the US Open Cup, and the rules of that competition, which include a random component, I believe.
If we advance this year, the odds that we are picked to host at least one game will rapidly approach 100%. If we are picked to host, we will need to figure out where to do it. No easy answers, but we dealt with it two years ago.
i thought the rule was that if both teams wanted to host a "coin flip" was done to determine who hosted. if only one team applied to host then it would automatically go to them.
it could be that nycfc says no, well go away for in the first round. and see what what happens should they go to the next.
Good stuff. You know it better than me. I had thought there was some other criteria around who had hosted more recently.i thought the rule was that if both teams wanted to host a "coin flip" was done to determine who hosted. if only one team applied to host then it would automatically go to them.
