Well I really want to joke about this. But the game was no joke, the ref was paid a lot from RB. I’m really upset about this.

It's not even the red cards that bother me (though the 2nd one was a complete joke) ... it's the rest of the game. It's the hands to the face, the tackling Ring in the first 10 minutes -- the lack of calls against the Red Bulls all night, the way one team was punished while the other team was let off the hook time and time again. ... Inexcusable to referee a Derby in that fashion.

Pushes to the back go unpunished; one guy runs at Maxi, Maxi ducks and the guy just falls over him because he's so little, foul called for NJ; Chanot and a Red Bull go for the same ball, Chanot gets it, foul called for NJ; they barge our player off the ball moments later, no call; one of our players handballs it at the side, no call; various things that seemed like they could have been corners or goal kicks for either side, all called wrong.... Sadly, I could go on.

Did he actually go to the screen for VAR, or just get the word in his ear?

He went to the screen.

That missed handball at the top of their box after we went down a man was a travesty to not call. Their player had his arms extended making himself really big when the ball hit his arm. Would have been a dangerous spot for Villa to get a free kick.

He went to the screen for like 10 seconds. Took one look at it, then came back with the red.

I forgot about the hand ball -- another terrible decision.

And you're right -- the reds aren't even the most galling calls from that game, it's everything else. How many times were NYCFC players pushed in the back? Ring getting tackled by Adams, I think it was, in the first 10 minutes -- no call. The entire game was just so completely mismanaged.

It’s PRO working with the owners to write the script of the season. PRO and the old guard owners don’t like city football group and they work together to ensure parity and that the more favored teams end up on top. The league is pretty rigged.

Until you have a system like the other pro sports where you don’t have a central ownership cabal then you’ll get true parity.

Nothing is rigged. It’s a really hard sport to referee, and just like our league and players, this country is just getting started establishing a corp of professionals. It obviously needs to be better, and we probably should be focusing on development in that regard just as we are with players.
Sorry Gator. With certain refs, the bias against us is completely one sided. There is no way Ofori shouldnhave gotten a VAR red if Lawrence also didn’t - one was during the run of play with jostling, the other was during a stoppage and premeditated. To not call that a red is malpractice - a yellow was simply because he had to acknowledge Tinny was lying on his back.

There was also one point in the first half where Unkel called a foul right outside the box on one of our players, but then in the second half pretty much the same foul happened (at least from my view of the field) and he waved play on.

There is a ongoing effort by the league office and PRO to suppress NYCFC from getting the CCL spot so Atlanta gets it. Last night, they showed their hand by the refereeing efforts.

I could almost hear you yelling from up where I sit. (I sit first row 202, so right above where the players warm up.)

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

MLS referees aren't good enough to be part of a conspiracy like this.
