Scottish Football

I also lament the Defoe signing.

I think it’s just that Rangers have no money. Otherwise, they could/should have begged/bought Solanke.

Looks like Woodburn might head over. He might be pretty good. When Hyndman went over in a similar situation, he was damn near carrying the team at times. Speaking of, too bad for all parties they couldn’t land him permanently.

I honestly don't know what to expect from Defoe. Most Rangers fans seem pretty pleased with the signing. I'd expect him to either be a super sub spelling Morelos or they might go two strikers at times. Morelos is clearly the man there though Lafferty has been a disappointment and if Defoe has anything left he brings something very different to the table.

I do think bringing back Steven Davis (despite his age) is definitely a good move and he should still be able to do the business at the SPL level.

SWEET!

We have a great track record of ruining players recently, but were just sold by a Scottish bald guy to an American bald guy with facial hair, appointed a guy from Vancouver as a coach, as well as some other US based business types, so hoping this is a period of Minnesota nice!

Made a mark his first match

Weah also scored for Celtic. Feel all conflicted on that one Guess it's good practice for Pulisic on Chelski . EWW lol

Weah looked pretty good. I really like his game.

I really wish CP didn’t go to Chelsea. I have no confidence in it being a quality place. On a positive note, maybe they’ll run off half the squad and let Sarri rebuild around him. But I doubt it.

Jock probably has a lot more experience than I in watching that tier of Scottish football. I did follow Rangers when they were in the championship and watched an occasional PPV stream but not enough matches and none not involving Rangers to have a solid grip. I also haven't watched much USL though that will likely change with a Connecticut team arriving next season.

Well "The Rangers" lost 2-1 to Kilmarnock despite Defoe scoring on his debut very frustrating. Just don't call them "Sevco" and we'll be OK:D

Wednesday is my day off so I skipped some of my errands and watched Rangers- Aberdeen pretty exciting match ending 4-2 Rangers and ten men on ten men. Morelos is so good and such a nutter at the same time. The best and worst both on display today. His two goals were well taken and he's just (almost) too good an attacker to stay in Scotland long but I wonder if his discipline problems give Rangers a chance to hold on to him a bit longer than they otherwise would.

Looks like Brendan Rodgers is leaving Celtic for Leicester. Crazy times we're in when there's so much money in the Prem Leicester is a more attractive position than one of the Old Firm. 20 years ago martin O'neill was arguably Leicester's most successful manager at that point and left them for Celtic which at the time was definitely the bigger job.

Lennon is returning to Celtic as caretaker. He's a known quantity so despite the spat at Hibs, he should be able to shepherd The Bhoys through the next couple of months. They are out of Europe so...… whatever. I'm pumped by Timmo though. He's been a super sub.

Rod Stewart called into Scottish talk radio to complain the News had ruined his Dubai holiday for which he's been mocked on twitter. Would love it if this leads to a Celtic implosion .

Ha that's ridiculous, but passionate...... "You're Celtic, united, but baby I've decided; You're the best team I've ever seen"

Any idea what Billy Connolly had to say???
