i feel like its kind of a big deal. lots or people talking about it in my soccer circles anyway
This makes sense. Despite him being the biggest soccer star in the world, the impact of this story on MLS and NYCFC is barely negligible, even if he ends up thoroughly disgraced and in prison. Contrast that to Portugal, Italy, or anywhere with any significant UCL contact.

Might impact the Ronaldo to Miami rumors. Or whatever it was.

The video of them in the club humping each other and the fact that her lawyer says she is going to sue Ronaldo is not good for her. It seems to be about money, not justice.

Um, you do realize that their actions in the club have zero implications on whether a rape happened later in the night??? Being flirtatious earlier in the evening isn't blanket consent for later.

She only can ask for a civil suit. It’s up to the Las Vegas prosecuter to peruse it criminally. Today’s press conference and her suing civally and public interest makes a criminal case more likely. Not saying he raped her or he didn’t but I just don’t agree with it not looking good for her.

I'm not saying my thoughts on it, I'm stating what I'm seeing online. To many the video has nothing to do with consent but there's also a lot of people that are saying otherwise. When the story first came about I read somewhere that he paid her $375k after she threatened to say he raped her and now she wanted more money. That her lawyer contacted him after he signed the juventus contract asking for more money and he said no. To be honest I can see him doing it but I can also see a possible opportunist. Judging it either way would be nothing more than opinion right now. We will just have to see how it plays out.

ETA. In the Kobe Bryant case there was consensual sex acts but she said he went too far and raped her, literally the same way. The case was eventually dropped because she didn't testify, but a civil suit led to her settling for money. The majority thought he was guilty in the beginning, which he may have been, but it was easy to see the opposite after it all played out. Rape is real and so is extortion. Both are serious accusations and very hard to prove either without physical evidence, police reports, legitimate witnesses, etc.

My apologies, your previous post read as if that was your point of view and not what you were paraphrasing from articles.

Her legal team is saying they have quotes where he himself says "She said no and stop several times... I entered her from behind. It was rude. We didn't change position. 5/7 minutes. She said that she didn't want to, but she made herself available. But she kept saying 'No.' 'Don't do it.' 'I'm not like the others.' I apologized afterwards." there is a lot to the story. Im not saying he did or didnt do it. But her story does make sense if you read the whole thing.

Once the media moves on from Kavanaugh I think this story will pick up more.

In other news, all 4 Serie A teams won their CL match. Napoli played well enough to beat Juventus the other day and played a good match against Liverpool. Maybe they are starting to find their groove and can challenge Juve. Think Inter will be right there too.

Not only that but Italy just overtook England in the rankings
