My personal preference is not necessarily the same as what I think would best represent the SG. For me, I like the griminess associated with the darker corners of the city, but I would rather have 100 supporters join an all inclusive club than have 5 or 6 supporters that just have a really cool shield.

Alright, so if I am understanding you correctly, your issue with the violent connotations is not out of personal dislike, but more out of concern that others will not join. That makes sense, and I agree completely.
That's exactly it. If we as a group decide that the name that best describes us is the The Pestilent Blood Drinkers...well then I guess that's our new name. I just think we have a responsibility to be as inclusive as possible.
The word you are looking for is ghastly. This is more of a Bill the Butcher meets Guy Fawkes thing. I think it's terrible as well.This type of image seems to be pretty popular in association with the name "The Natives"
Personally, I think it is just ugly, and would be very disappointed if it end up being the SG logo
