TFC Postmatch

In the prayer scene, I'm seeing Rodney Wallace right? In warm up gear? WTF?

Also, New York Presbyterian finally made their sponsorship payment.

time stamp me, i dont feel like watching this whole thing to find it

ETA: found it, its at 1:40 if anyone is curious. and yes its him, hes also wearing flip flops WITH SOCKS!

And (14:02), we see Drew Moor kick at Villa's shin. Villa goes down. This is the best angle I've seen. No foul was called. Criminal.

Now that I've seen the other angle. Not a penalty for the contact with Maxi. Leg kick was after contact. Defender was in the spot first.

It's Wallace or his twin cousin wearing his number.
9:50 I'm not sure I approve of Villa doing the water bottle thing with someone besides Kit Man. That could be why we didn't play well. A guy who wears long sleeves in 93F humid weather for superstitious reasons should understand this.

How many "big games" in a row is that where we haven't been up for it? Playoffs, US open Cup, derbies.

Are we counting the shitty version of the red bulls as winning a big game this year? Maybe, but if we look like shit vs Chicago, then the coaching staff is learning nothing about preparing this team mentally.

The win at Orlando

For all the complaining about the ref, I think he got a lot of tough calls correct. The potential penalty on Maxi, the foul on Harrison just outside the box, the offside call negating Toronto's goal. All seemed good to me.
Couple notes on the offsides. TFC fans are livid about it in the comments on the MLS game recap.
1. They post some links to twitter with shots from behind the goal that make it look like the player who scored was behind the ball when the Spencer heads it. I don't think the images prove as much as the TFC fans think, because the angles are not as perfect as they superficially appear, but they do muddy the waters a bit. PS: I read the comments so you don't have to. Don't go there (or just scan for the links) if you don't want to be exposed to irrational NYCFC hate and conspiracy theories.

2. I'm kind of amazed how many people think the way the call happened is wrong or unprecedented. I thought it was exactly what the officials are supposed to do. Further, I've only been watching soccer heavily for a few short years and I have seen at least 2 other times when an offside call was changed after consultation. Usually what happens is the side official can see whether a player is an offside position but is blocked from seeing who made the last prior touch. The ref can see who hit the ball but cannot judge position. So they talk and get it right. The only slight twist here is it seemed like the 2 officials waited before consulting for some reason instead of going to talk immediately. Even our announcers thought the basic process was odd though (and the comments mentioned above are insane) and I'm like "guys, do you even soccer?"

The win at Orlando
I also count that fr at least partial credit. You can play around a lot with defining big game. In retrospect it seems like no big deal because of how Orlando has slipped, but at the time we had a bad streak against them and they had never lost at home.
I also give some credit for the wins against Atlanta at home and RB at RBA. Neither team is top of the league and both are offset by losses to the same team shortly before or afterwards, but RB is RB and we had to sart winning against them, and Atlanta was rightly or wrongly deemed a measurement game. On the whole though we have come up short in these matches. And PV has never won against Toronto in 5 tries including playoffs.

Toronto sports fans undercut every stereotype that exists about Canadians.
