The Nycfc Alias Poll

It is long past time we figure this out and get as many NYCFC fans to voice what we call our team and and by extension ourselves. Lets vote on it. I also need to say this poll closes in 1 month. Also we are sending the top 4.

To clarify what is the question being asked in this poll? is it what we will call the team in general or are we looking for a nickname/alternative name? i.e. bronx bombers or Amazins? I took the question to mean the latter and voted bluebirds

It's nickname we are going to tell the team and new sites we will use and call the team. The team has been using the name "city" not all of us are onboard with that. So this is the name we are all on board with. Example the way Melbourne don't call themselves "city" they still call themselves "heart"

I've been using NYC on this forum. It's quicker to type and no one has made a comment they were confused yet as to what I was refering to. New York City feels too long to type. And we're already nycfc, so we're just not saying FC.

For me it's been: Typing - NYC. In conversation - New York City.

Sorry folks, but nicknames like Bombers and Amazins form over time and organically. Both those nicknames have reason, and connect back to specific events/performances. Picking a name in a forum before the team has a played a single game seems too fake for me.

I refer to them as NYC. If a nickname develops over time, then awesome. Just hope it's not something lame like Gotham or Straphangers. Seriously, no one refers to this city as Gotham, and our subway system is crap.
