Trying snowboarding for the first time......

Anyone ever get the Icon or Epic pass? I'm considering the Base Icon pass this year to ride the NE. Seems like all the NE mountains have restrictions with the base pass, but Tremblant doesn't. I generally don't go riding on holidays anyway, too crowded. And if I did absolutely have to, I can always go to Tremblant to do so. Well, that's my thinking. Anyone have experience with it?

*****UPDATE******

I went snowboarding for the first time on Wednesday. I’m still in Tahoe. It’s snowing (a lot). It’s awesome.

So I took a 5 hour lesson on Wednesday. It took about an hour and I was up on the board. My instructor was great. I WAS BEYOND SORE that night and ALL DAY Thursday.

We stayed at Resort At Squaw Creek for the first four nights. Place is off the chain nice. It’s a ski in, ski out, however, the ski in ski out lift at the hotel is not a beginner lift. I hit some blue trails on Day 2 (Friday).

My first day of snowboarding the sun was out and I was in just a long sleeve shirt in the afternoon. Friday was much colder but I was much more confident and had a blast. I can’t make quick turns like a regular but I can turn toe side and heel side and I only crash if I start going too fast and ride beyond my ability.

We are leaving on Tuesday. We’re supposed to get 2 feet of snow in the next 48 hours. Wind permitting, we will hit Squaw (home of the 1960 Winter Olympics) tommorow and Monday.

We went snowmobiling on Thursday. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Tahoe.

We are staying at The Cottages. It’s very meh. We pretty much went from a 5 star hotel to a 3 star hotel. Lesson learned.

The 14 oz Waygu Striploin I had at Six Peaks at Squaw Creek was a top 5 all time steak for me.

It’s been snowing for 48 hours straight. Last I checked, none of the lifts at Squaw are open. Several restaurants are closed.

That’s great! I actually went boarding for the first tine in almost a decade on Friday. It was a lot like riding a bike and i was able to easily get back into it. I did get a bit cocky on my second run and spilled pretty hard. Knocked the wind out of me haha Glad I wore a helmet.

I was in Mammoth, which is in the Eastern Sierras. You actually have to drive to Tahoe from the Bay Area and then drive another couple of hours south from there. We were supposed to leave today, but ended up leaving yesterday since that mega storm was coming. Stay safe today. Probably not worth paying the price to go skiing today as it’s supposed to be white out conditions.

Sounds epic. If the lifts are closed, huck off switchback and hitch back up to your car. Just bring a snorkel if it gets too deep!

My dad went skiing with my sister last week, broke his leg, knee snapped. Is getting surgery on thursday.
:O
That's awful - Hope he's ok! Knee snapped as in he tore his ACL/MCL? Or he broke his kneecap?

As in kneecap. Shattered into multiple pieces, and he's getting surgery on thursday to put it all back into place. My sister and I took care of him this past week, not something you really want to experience.
Moral of the story: f you go snowboarding or skiing, please stay on the bunny slopes until you're confident!
