UCL 17/18 Knockout Rounds (Draw and Matches)

What's wild about the draw is that some Liverpool fans discovered yesterday that the results were "fixed" when they were on the Roma site trying to cop tickets. Making the rounds yesterday were several screenshots of the website showing the Roma v. Liverpool 2nd leg as one of the upcoming matches.

Does that prove it is fixed? No. But it certainly doesn't disprove it.

I bet their marketing group had pages/images set up and ready to roll for all of the possible opponents. That’s typical of any publishing - always be prepared with something to post immediately.

I think it’s the better matchup for the semis for Liverpool. Not that I think they can’t beat the others, but on paper it’s the easiest matchup to progress to the final.
I guess. I feel like it’s a matchup that would be more simple in the group stage.

I’m not taking it for granted, and I think I may be expecting it to be more difficult simply due it being a semi.

When I step back and look at it objectively, I just can’t see how Roma beat Liverpool over two legs. They also have a dogfight in their league to stay in the CL spots, plus a much older squad.

I’d have fancied us to win against any of the three, but now, I just feel more angsty because going out to Roma instead of Real or Bayern would seem more of a missed opportunity, rightly or wrongly.

Dzeko and Nainggolan are serious threats. I think its gonna be a pretty even match up.

Roma might be the toughest matchup for Liverpool because they won’t play into Liverpools strengths like City did. Guardiola played his style and didn’t do much different in the first leg and paid for it by leaving the defense open to counters.
Roma will play it safe knowing they’re playing a better opponent and take their chances on Liverpool mistakes. It’ll be an interesting matchup. Dzeko is always an arial threat.
