Untold Stories

For as much hate that Tommy gets for his play, he seems like a stand up human being. If there's someone in the club who will remain involved as a commentator or similar, it's definitely him.

I'm of the mind that you always take care of your own. The team should make sure that he is involved here as long as he wants to work.

But not as a player taking up part of our limited cap? I think he's a good guy and wish him all types of success and he should have a position in the FO if he wants one. But he doesn't fit this team's style of play. It's probably better for his career & the club for him to be traded/move on. Let him come back after his career in any role that makes sense.

There are also two big untold stories...

The draft of drafts (the "priority draft") Orlando won and selected the Expansion Draft first. Then Kreis said allocation order. Orlando then picked the SuperDraft. Orlando was already eyeballing Brek Shea and we used the allocation order on Mix Diskerud. Since Orlando already had their guy, why didn't we select the SuperDraft and get Cyle Larin rather than Khiry Shelton?

The other untold story would be the 2015 offseason and what happened when Kreis told he was being fired and Vieira being hired.

#1. We already know Kreis fucked up.

#2. You don’t think he saw the writing on the wall? He already lost the lockerroom. And also #1. Add to that that it became very obvious he didn’t know how to build a competitive MLS roster. The big shocker for me is Orlando hired him.

I just want the tape of Villa calling up Txiki, Soriano, or Khaldoon after the Red Bull game.

Yup, love the dude. But if we can get value for him somewhere else, then great. Because I don't really see what he is going to bring to this roster on the field.

I don't get this one. Don't we already know what happened?

I don’t think he understands the thread.

There's been a lot of interaction between fans and the front office and players, but there are still some stories that we never got the answers endings for and it drives me crazy:

#1 The Stadium - I don't think we'll ever really find out till it's over.

#2 Mix - Don't we all still want to know what happened? Are we all too afraid to ask PV when we see him? Has NYCFCfan NYCFCfan tried reaching out to former players who were on the team to ask? 2A: How could you start Mikey Lopez in the playoffs when a healthy Mix was available? It's still even topical because ManCity signed and loaned him out, probably to keep his mouth shut.

#3 CCL 2019 Qualification - The club has never told us their side of the story. Did they (& CCL) want NYCFC to qualify and MLS blocked them? Was it just a big mistake?

I'm sure there are a few others out there I can't remember at the moment. Can anyone else think of some?
I'm pretty sure all parties involved signed an NDA since no one wants to talk about it. No one is complaining, talking about being happy, just silence. No one on either side is going to risk losing money to talk to an outsider about it.

We'll have to wait until Mix's book comes out.

I wonder if the NDA covers obscure verse.

Even other players not invovlved? Or staff?

Are they still employed??? I’d bet that definitely staff, and probably also players (depending on the CBA & MLS contracts), can’t talk about club “stuff” or risk initiating “for cause” clauses.

Now, it’s quite possibly another story for a player/staff that was let go, but there’s always a chance they too have an NDA as part of severance. And as tight a ship as NYCFC is, I bet CFG hands out NDA left, right, and center as the normal procedure of working there.

I’m talking about Stiven Mendoza, Shannon Gomez, or Poku who’s all the way in Russia right now. Why can’t someone give them a call and ask?

Or maybe the massage therapist from that season knows something? Or a water boy...
