The United States Soccer Federation made a $46 million net profit off the Copa America Centenario last year and now have a surplus of more than $100 million.

The federation have begun talks on building a training facility comparable to the ones built by France and Italy.

That is some serious coin. Hopefully they spend it wisely.

Also, Imagine what hosting a World Cup will make them.

As long as the money isn't being laundered into someone's pockets, I don't feel so bad paying crazy prices for tickets; if it means the money will be reinvested in making the Nats better.

That train of though makes me hate Chuck Blazer even more. Imagine if all the money he stole (or his cat stole?) the last 2 decades went to player development? I don't even want to think of what could have been, hurts too much.

A coverciano? that be cool.....but then what is being built in Kansas City? isint that US Soccer national training facility as well?

US Soccer is so convinced they have all the answers and that American coaches are on par with the world's best that they think only a training facility is holding us back, lol. Use that shit to get a top top top foreign coach and shut up and get out of his way.

(No i don't think JK is a top foreign coach, but he was better than Arena)

USSF should be hiring a HUGE number of youth talent scouts with that money, and otherwise bolstering the youth development system (ideally by eliminating the "pay to play" structure) . We have a criminally tiny youth scouting system compared to the world soccer powers because the US is so geographically vast, and as a result we have no idea how many extremely talented kids are falling through the cracks.

- Hire more youth talent scouts
- Reduce the cost of earning coaching badges
- Pay Nike a little more for the effort to not make shit kits for us

The facility in SKC is a coach training facility. Seriously.

Now, we will build one for players. Far away from the coaches because that's the kind of decisions US soccer makes.
