hey, don't hate on Medel. I love that guy's intensity.

Oh, how I'm going to miss seeing Chile play major tournaments with literally ZERO defenders on the pitch.

At the very end of this podcast, Doyle calls out JLew as a possible change he might want to make to this Jan camp roster. Nice to see him mentioned at least. Would have been great to get him involved with the "senior" team. I wonder if anyone has been in touch with him.

Wait, but according to Twitter, I'm supposed to be super angry at young players that decide to switch their eligibility to another country...

Edit: my favorite tweet to come out of that whole situation..

I'm not angry at the player. I'm angry at shitty USSF and all the people responsible for the current situation.

With Tillman, I think it's always been expected once his brother got onboard. But no reason for him not to play his Germany caps in the meantime.

Just when it seemed you could write the man off, here comes Aron Johannsson.

He got his first action in months a couple of weeks ago for Werder Bremen against Schalke, and he had a hand in both goals, including a beautiful chip over the defense to set up the winner in stoppage time.

He then got a start for Bremen in their next game - a German Cup contest - and did this.

He has started the next couple of games and done well. Then, earlier today, he came off the bench to win the game late for Bremen as his shot forced an own goal. (have been looking for video of this one, but no luck yet)

Let's hope the 27-year-old can stay healthy and get fully back on form.

Landon Donovan wants American to be U.S. coach

    http://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states/story/3393633/landon-donovan-wants-american-to-be-us-coach

Personally, I would like to see an American," he told Sports Illustrated. "I think Americans as a general comment understand the American player better. They understand the league better. They understand the culture better. And it's better for the development of our coaches in this country to have that experience. So there are a few coaches that I think would fit that bill as Americans."

lol yeah because Bruce Arena worked so well this time around.

And as for "understanding the league better" Geoff Cameron was right. MLS isnt a high enough standard to be playing for the USMNT.

Nice win last night. Tyler f-ing Adams is a beast.

Imagine if we had seen even half this effort and grit in our last game that mattered.

I didn't watch the game but I just read Sarachen's quote "You don't make changes for changes sake". Total BS. Of course you make the full 6 subs in a meaningless friendly like this so you can evaluate performances of as many of the young guys as possible. He needs to be replaced by another interim Coach immediately.

It was a frenetic pace the entire match. They did a good job of shutting down Almiron. A legit fight almost broke out as well.

Played out of the back quite a bit, did very well to control the midfield for most of the game. Absolutely nothing going on the final third though
