USMNT Talk

Not much discussion here about the US friendly? Fabian is our best player by far, need 10 more like him. I'm ready to give up on Jozy, everyone likes his potential, but JK needs to really start giving more time to potential replacements, and see who can shine. Seeing the drive of a Joe Gyau, while lacking a finishing sheen, was refreshing. Hope to see more of Mix, maybe paired with Bradley in a diamond? Brooks looks like a stud in the making too. I hope the Ecuador game features some Europe guys too, I would be disappointed with an MLS only team over here.
Disagree about Jozy. Everybody was ready to give up on him before he went on a scoring run last year. He has been excellent for the country, and this game should definitely not be held against him at all. He played with two inexperienced wingers and 3 non-creative midfielders, what more could he have done.

I just think its worthwhile to give some significant friendly minutes to other guys, to see what more could be done. He seems to have a guaranteed spot, whereas everyone else has to fight to play.

Im gonna take a shot in the dark/stab at my projected olympic roster for the US.

Since we are allowed 3 overage players, I am going to say the three chosen are Altidore, Bradley, and Cameron.

Gk- Cropper, Kempin, Castano

CB- Brooks, Cameron, Zimmerman, Palmer-Brown

LB- Serna, ONeil
RB- Yedlin, Packwood

CM/AM- Bradley, Hyndman, Trapp, Gil, Zelelam, Canouse

Strikers- Altidore, Green, Gyua, Rubin, Villareal, Arriola

You really think Klinsmann is going to take those 3 guys when they have Copa America to play?

Also, Steffen will be starting in goal unless we take Guzan.

love the mls article with dual Americans with dual citizenship, couple guys I never knew had dual citizenship on there.

A backline of Henley, Brooks, Packwood, Yedlin; could be one of the best U-23 USA defensive line we have ever had. And then the prospect of having Zelelam, Green, Gil and hyndman in midfield with Parker and Rubin up to. Not bad my friends, not bad at all.

A rather graphic paragraph from an interview USA/San Jose striker Chris Wondolowski did with Grantland...

Wondolowski went back to the locker room and showered and dressed. Moments later, he did something that no athlete in the aftermath of failure should ever, under any circumstances, do: He checked Twitter. His mentions had been subsumed by venom. People around the country — around the world — let him know what they thought of his miss. They called him anasshole. They called him a piece of shit. They called him a hippie and acommunist, a terrorist. Satan. They called him pendejo and cabron andbasura. They insulted him in English and Spanish, in Turkish, Indonesian, and Portuguese. They said that Landon Donovan would have made it. They said that Juan Agudelo would have made it, that their grandmother or a one-legged man would have made it too. They compared him to Bill Buckner andSteve Bartman and Nicholas Brody. They told him to retire, to kill himself, toburn in hell. They said fuck him. They said fuck his dog. They suggested that he be sent to Siberia, that he fall in a pit of acid, that he be lynched in front of his family. They told him to go fuck himself. They told him to go fuck a Belgian waffle. They threatened, with blunt forthrightness if not proper grammar, to light him on fire.

Charming.

I looked at the profile of one of the guys in there, forgot which one exactly and I was like this douche is probably a Harrison fan. To my dismay, his bio says NYCFC fan :D.

The one who told him to "fall in a pit of acid" also added the following in his next tweet...

"and die"

I imagine that probably would be the result if you fall in a pit of acid.

Should be interesting. Playing a 3-5-2 with JJJ in the middle of the 3. Shea and Yedlin playing as the wing backs and Mix starting next to Bradley in a DM role
