The only thing I’ve learned from this pre election process is that Eric Wynalda has no conception of the business requirements of American soccer and must be kept away from the USSF presidency at all costs.

I haven't followed this much really, so won't comment on Wynalda's ability in this regard, or anyone else's. But that's exactly what this position is. Understanding the business requirements of American soccer. I don't care how much you know and understand about the game, if you don't get the business aspects of it, then this position is not for you.

Now perhaps there are other positions within US Soccer for people like that, but not as USSF President

i was reading in twitter reddit that a "GM" position was going to be created to help with duties. or was that just a proposal by a candidate?

US Soccer Presidential Candidates On How To Save Soccer | Walk Talk Football

Whether or not you support radical change at the USSF, you have to admit that the "change" candidates have been a clown show. Reading that article has to cast doubt on whether any of them has the basic level of professionalism necessary to get the job done.

So basically they’re maintaining the status quo?
The change we needed.. the right hand man to the guy who needed to get out of US soccer.
This was basically a giant spectacle. Funny thing about it all is I hadn’t heard his name until a friend text me saying he was projected to win shortly before the election.
It’s as if the others were told to be loud and make a scene just to make it seem as if this was fair and balanced.

interesting....this was the guy everyone on twitter etc hated when he announced his candidacy because he was the "status quo" then kathy carter came along then EVERYONE went against her and the dinner she had with sunil did not help and everyone forgot about this guy

and this guy won in the end avoiding all the heat.....conspiracy theorists will say this was sunil plan all along? well played to him if he wanted the same people in charge.

Important factors to remember here. Sunil while not president continues to remain on the board. As well as now there is the open vice president position. My guess is that Carter will run for it and win it. Basically, all this charade for nothing.

No, Carter is much better served as President of SUM rather than a somewhat meaningless USSF VP position.
