Shit match. Wasn’t even remotely enjoyable to watch.
The Awuah and Sweat subs killed any momentum we had, despite our lead.
Why was Ben helping both Chanot and Callens cover a man leaving the far post completely open?

This was our chance to overtake Atlanta with a win next week. Blew it.

That was terrible. Did anyone play a good match? Maybe Chanot, that’s about it.

Once again, not good enough in the final 3rd.

And we pissed away our chance for 3 points all on our own, but it’s bullshit that’s fouls finished 20-5. How did we end up with 4x more fouls then Vancouver?!

Glad I missed this match by the comments so far.

I don't know what was more disgraceful the defense on that last goal or the wave.

Thought we played some beautiful stuff. We didn't generate enough shots on target from our final third dominance, and our subs completely killed our shape and momentum, but TBH I was ok with those subs at the time.

Refereeing performance a complete joke.

Medina had a nice goal, and that was about it for him; and he’s gonna get somebody killed with his bicycles one of these days.

Valentin looks really promising.

No idea how Sands is considered worse than Awuah. It makes no sense. A top US youth, who has at least been getting Academy games, should be fitter and more ready to go than Awuah.

Dome is making the typical foreign manager mistake thinking he can bring more defensive-minded players on (save for Lewis) to preserve a lead rather than keeping the peddle pushed to the floor. He has to realize our team is a similar to MCFC in that we don’t have extra lockdown defenders to throw on - instead play to our strengths which is keeping the attackers on.

Styver has an amazing throw - should have been a pitcher.... he’s unfortunately not sound with his positioning- every goal was badly played, and even the two off the cross bar had him beaten if just a bit lower.

When is Felipe gonna get a card for embellishment? Every fan knows his schtick- why don’t the referees?

Ok that was an awful game to watch. Maxi is by far one of the worst shooters during play that I have ever seen. However we did not lose this game because of him. He was pretty solid tonight, along with Berger who had a good game.

The main culprits for this debacle go like this:

1st place trophy: Stuver - my god, just awful tonight, slow reaction on the first goal, misread the cross which led to being completely out of position on the second. He is not an MLS GK. Hopefully this is his last game in a NYCFC shirt. He had a few great distributions with the arm but if that is the best u can say about a GK then WELP.

2nd place trophy: Dome - wtf was with his subs? Why take out castellanos forn Awuah? Awuah is another player that is not MLS quality at this point. He brings absolutely nothing to the table except safe passes back to the back line. The kid is just not good.

If Castellanos was tired bring someone else in like Lewis for him much earlier in the match. Berget got injured then bring in a defender. Just doesn’t make sense.

Also I noticed Mataritta has gained quite a bit of weight. Maybe this has something to do with his poor play I dunno. The injuries to his hamstring too but man he has fallen off.

Just overall too many passes in the box. My dad was saying “I think they want to walk the ball into the net, what are they doing?” Couldn’t agree more.

Look we have a good team but by no means is it an mls cup winning team, we are just not strong at a lot of key positions especially if Villa doesn’t come back healthy and performing at a high level.

We certainly didnt sub on anyone that could play defense.

| "I think Brad had a good performance, especially when we have the ball, he has confidence in himself. And the team has confidence in him as well. I think we have two good goalkeepers right now. It’s important for us to cover the injured players, not just Sean" - Dome

He can’t be serious!

Would you really expect him to say anything different? He isn’t gonna throw him under the bus

Our mediocre play has been bubbling for a month covered by solid results. Today it spoiled over. I’m nervous. We have obviously have pieces missing, but idk... seems like typical (New York) City. Start out hot the fade down the stretch.

Really? I felt like those were generally poorly received by the majority.

Nevermind. Answered myself.
ITS and Castellanos looked faded. Lewis for Berget made sense. I think Torrent put too much faith in the players who came on and they may not have understood our shape.
