NYCFC Confirm Departure of PV. Nice Confirm Arrival of PV as Manager.

If PV leaves why not promote Christian Lattanzio? He's familiar with the league and our players. I think he'd be a lateral move from Vieira minus the personality.

Vieira brought his staff with him from Man City EDS. I'd think he'd take them to Arsenal with him if he'd go.

my diehard arsenal buddy says verbatim:

"its gonna be loew. they'll announce it after the world cup. Thats why ozil signed, he knew it was happening. And Auba, and thet's why sven joing too. Kroenke will love him too, safe guy, no drama. Simeone is the dream but hes too risky for kroenke".

Thats from an arsenal fan lifer. Grew up in a house outside highbury, even lives there now that it was converted to apartments. And works for copa90. He's surrounded by EPL soccer. So while I don't think he has any inside knowledge, i weight his opinion more then just general speculation. And if inside news does break, he'd be all over it.

The biggest thing I take from this is that Vieira wasn't made available to the media on Friday following training. I can imagine that there will at least be a few questions during the post game press conference regardless of the result about the Arsenal job and Wegner leaving the North London club. A win in Portland would make Vieira a little more smiling to these questions when asked.

Everyone is noticing his grammatical tick.

The response is usually a categorical denial with a wry smile, followed with something along the lines of “I’m quite very happy where I am at the moment.”

The NYCFC plot thickens!

"If they were interested, it would give me pleasure," said Ancelotti, 58.

"But at the moment that's it. My future depends on possibilities and projects that are presented to me, not just from me," added the former AC Milan, Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain and Bayern Munich coach.

BBC Sport understands that Ancelotti would be keen on recruiting former Italy international Andrea Pirlo as an assistant.

My gut feeling is that PV is not certain whether he is ready to move and that the Arsenal board will want someone with more experience anyway. That said, I don't feel too confident, and besides that my predictions don't tend to be worth the internet they're printed on anyway, so who knows?

As for those questioning Arteta's credentials, the word at the time he was hired was that Pep specifically wanted him to join his backroom staff as he saw him as the kind of player who played the right kind of football, and the kind of individual who was smart enough to understand and completely buy into his system. Whether he intends to be a manager in future I don't know (though plenty of people are happy to link him to various jobs) but the implication is that if he were to become a manager under CFG, Pep believes he could follow his own lead quite adequately.

Harsh, but possible. The biggest problem with Everton behind the scenes, IMO, is that too many people have too much power. It's hard to know what the Arsenal organization will be like post-Wenger. For a while, certainly, there will be chaos.

We have so many problems but I agree that is one of them. Money spent poorly. Conflicting football philosophies. New ownership in and out of the backroom.

The only positive is that I think the new stadium actually gets done. The hope is that it renergizes the club and then leads to even more investment.

Evidently Pep Guardiola endorsed PV for the Arsenal job. Or, at least, said:

"Of course, he already is [a top manager]," Guardiola told reporters. "Now, with what happened [at Arsenal], there is a lot of names there. Arsenal is going to take the best decision for them.

"But, of course, he is ready. I think all the names that are going to start to go -- this name or this name or the other one -- all of them, they are ready."

I don't think he leaves yet I think they go with another big name in Europe but all the press and his name showing up everywhere is great for the club. I think for a long time the only name in MLS people in Europe new was Galaxy but that is changing.
