Westworld

Not going to read through in case of spoilers, but thoughts on whether this is worthwhile to start?

I find it entertaining and look forward to watching it each week. Four episodes in, there are a lot of things going on and I'm not entirely certain as to whether the story is actually coherent and well stitched together. That may be because it isn't or, more likely, is because my brain isn't facile enough to follow everything, particularly when watching it before bed. Either way, though, it looks great and I am enjoying it.

How bout them musical cameos. Anyone catch black hole sun?

I've read articles about the piano playing cameos but I don't know the classics well enough to notice.

Also, I'm having a tough time jumping on board with some of these theories. Don't have enough background details like Thrones.

Always excited for Sunday..... especially this Sunday at 6:30pm

"classics"????? Black Hole Sun is a classic??? Damn, thanks for making a guy feel old this morning. And I'm not even #team50 yet.

I've only caught black hole sun and paint it black in the first episode. What other songs have they played?

I still have no idea where the show is heading but they definitely have me locked in still.

My girlfriend brought this up, and now I don't know what to think;
The different story lines going on might be different timelines. McPoyle and Delores going around with McPoyle's brother-in-law may be 20-30 years earlier, as In-law says his company is interested in buying the West World company. The "modern" day timeline, involving old man owner and man in black, who might be an aged McPoyle, coming back and searching for clues from something that he may have found back in the day. Delores did have those weird "dreams" or throwback visions when she came in contact with MIB. I believe old man owner also brings up a company who almost purchased west world back in the day, so he may be referring to the Brother-in-law's company and their interest in buying.

I have no sources behind this, just speculation. I've also heard that people have seen two different West World company logos being shown in the background, which could point to an updated logo over the age of the company as well. I'm going to try and rewatch some episodes so I can see if I see some small details unseen in viewing #1.

This is a very popular theory. I was completely against it until the most recent episode. Now I'm starting to get on board haha

Really, really great show. There a couple of issues I have right now, but it's definitely my favorite show of the year so far.

I've read that theory too and its definitely the most popular. A couple episodes ago I jumped off that train because when Delores was sleeping/dreaming next to McPoyle (love that) in the woods she was dreaming about the MIB. So unless she could see into the future and/or there's some sort of memory black hole within the hosts, I don't believe she would have know about the MIB while McPoyle is still the Man In White.

I gave it a shot for three episodes, but it's too slow, it's too cerebral. I might pick it up and watch a couple as a mini binge, but something needs to happen.

Same as you on the theory until I saw proof of it.
