Which pub for pre-match?

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it.

This post alone may turn me into a Huddersfield fan!*

* - having an American manager doesn't hurt either.
Well, if you ever get over your man crush on Michael Bradley, you'll find there's another reason. Sounds like Danny Williams will be joining Huddersfield in the Premier League. Really happy for him. He's a hell of a player and seems like a good guy.

Wonder how many folks have joined the team that beat them in the promotion playoffs?

Define start?

He was at the NJRB academy, but that was 4 years ago at this point and the kid is only 14. So from a complete soccer career perspective he would have started at Red Bull. But in transferring over to the NYCFC academy at age 10 I can make a pretty reasonable assertion that yes he started with out academy.

Unless your talking about the start of our academy, then yes he's been there since day one of the NYCFC academy.

Club is three seasons old, and the academy is 4 years old. The owners basically decided that they'd prefer to train kids their way and started the academy at u-12 and have been adding a year every year as the kids age up. What basically every other MLS club has done is coopt the local youth leagues, which leads to first and second year clubs having home grown players. Whereas we're on year three and haven't signed one yet.

sounds interesting. does the club poach kids from elsewhere? theres a lot of kids from ages 8-16 that move around academies belonging each club but the success rate is very low for any of them 'making it' it the premier league. it sounds like a good set up you have. if Gio Reyna has been with you since he was 10, and his dad is director, i'd guess that he is a 'fan' of NYCFC, which will make it sweeter when he eventually turns out for the first team.

Saw that news. Hope the transfer goes through. Wonder if this is his first step toward joining Toronto as a DP.

Also wonder if chasing this transfer is why he's not on the Gold Cup roster.

That's been the presumption from most - at least in part, because if that weren't the reason, Bruce would have to be nuts not to have him on the 40 man. I mean Bruce can't possibly think Ucubed potentially adds more value than DWill. ;)

personally i prefer the pregame tailgate rather than a bar, and then i usually will go to Dugout after the game. Anyone interested is welcome to tailgate with us.
