I NEVER EVER thought of Juventus ! They Never Fkd up !! They gave him back his balls after Milan tried to cut them off ! But they Got There's !! My Andrea came back Strong in Zebra stripes and gave the Best 4 years and titles after he was supposed to be pronounced dead ! They treated him like a Man ! This is why he still has ties with them today .

From my southern perspective anything north of the Bronx is upstate (joke), but really I'd say that Cold Spring was not upstate but New Paltz might be. Kingston, definitely. I guess maybe I-84 might be the dividing line, at least from my NYC perspective.
When I was a kid I used to spend summers and weekends up in Davenport though (right near Oneonta), and that's partly to blame for my love of soccer. At the time there was also Pelé, of course, but the two Oneonta colleges had very good soccer teams and I'd always make my dad take me to see them play. Used to be a big event in the town when the two teams would play each other in the Mayor's Cup (which now seems to have evolved into an actual tournament).
So a lot of my love of soccer (and of half-moon cookies) comes from being a 25% upstater up until I was maybe 16.
PS: You can always separate the NYC-only people from the upstaters because the upstaters have seen a cow and the NYC people have never seen one.
Crap, I forgot. The whole point of that post was add the Oneonta Yankees, may they rest in peace, to my list of favorite teams.
Did grades 5-12 in Otsego County, NOW we're gettin Upstate!
