I figured we're Mixdebating in the Mix to Man City thread. But now he's going somewhere else. Maybe Korea? (Where ever UMBRO wants him). And some would take him back here, some wont. I wonder what the consensus is on the Forums?

*Note there have been no rumors yet of him actually coming here.

**He's currently Man City property and could be sold or loaned (Yangel was loaned to us in the same manner) and could therefore be much more cap friendly this time around. MLS would probably love him back for the publicity of a homecoming. And we have no clue about allocation order or rights at this point, but we think his lack of time on the USMNT and all the teams passing on him when we cut him would allow him to come the NYC if CFG wanted it to happen.

Why not? The team was generally so bad we never found out how he would have fit with a better team. "Is successful in the Swedish League" matches the level of play for many of our starters. And we never knew what the hell was the problem between him and PV, but it didn't seem of a strictly football nature. I mean, Mix has to be a better option than TMac, but he got almost no chances and TMac got way too many. As a low-cost domestic loanee, Mix is a hit.

When we started to get decent players, he was benched. His co midfield was Jacobson, mhedi beluchi, and Tmac. would like to see him in a possession style with ring, maxi, and the current wingers/fullbacks we have.

Mix's last NYC lineup, not counting that friendly in Mexico mid-season.

thats the cosmos game right? wasnt he captain? dude could not do much against them why do i want him back. Not only that its not like he is killing it in Sweden either, or else he would not be rumored to go to Korea. also he is not worth all the 750K or what ever high amount he was doing.

No, bring up Haak instead

That was the cosmos match, and who could do anything with that lineup? Just the D and keeper alone should have allowed 3 goals. And NO ONE wants him here for $750k. We're taking about a $150-$200k pro-rated loan.

If you’re gonna post shit, at least post believable shit.

Mix was the top player on his team last season. He’s scored 4 goals this season in 16 matches and his club wants to purchase his rights. He’s doing very well in that set up which is why evidently four clubs are clamoring for his services.

he should be doing something if he was getting that much cash, he was a big signing , everyone else in that list is either in lower leagues or barely getting minutes ( i think shelton was injured for a bit i think, i think mullins is not even playing in DC) so no surprise. He had to take initiative, i remember PV indirectly put him under the bus since he didnt put much effort into that game, and i would agree. that was his downfall.

in korea? really dude? sounds like a move to make if he wants to keep selling hats. i dont know what are the other teams. Man city most likely gave him away at low fee since they only took him from us since MLS probably didnt want that contract no more.

what were his numbers last season? is he giving assists? since he honestly is not a striker.

it speaks volumes to me that he is the only player where we actually had to BUY OUT to get rid of him. he didnt live up to the hype so no there is no need to bring him back, like i said bring up a kid haak or someone from academy than Mix.

Man, you have no concept of how a team sport works, do you? Unless it’s ronaldo and 10 pub players, nobody can do anything with a crappy set of teammates. For you to complain that Mix didn’t shine against the Kosmos with that group is ignorant, sorry but it just is. And anybody would be pissed if their one opportunity to play and claw their way back is killed before the kickoff by a crappy group of teammates with the collective skills of a bad college team.

just like people shit on maxi for being DP its fair to shit on mix for being tam and not doing shit at that price. you are making it sound like cosmos are full of top pros, if anything he should of shined since everyone on that field was a bunch of pub type players, but he didnt. it was not only cosmos game, even other games he didnt show up at all, the attitude always felt that he is phoning it in. Chicago was probably his last good game and that was in start of season

and he was not pissed thats the thing it never felt that way, the vibe was like meh whatever he will just chill in the delta suites and bring his agent along to chill at YS seeing nycfc play.

this is why i think PV shunned him, he didnt seem fully interested so he got bought out made his money and now on his way

I said no. It's hard to answer without more context, like contract terms, but I was never as impressed with him as some others here.

I believe I was in the front of the line for shitting on Mix and his $750k contract based on production. I wanted him out in year 1. But on a loan that puts his numbers similar to Yangel or Tmac. And counting as a domestic player, opening up Yangel's international spot for another signing?

Also, making much less money on the cap (I believe Man City will have to cover the remainder, but IDGAF) there's no pressure on his productivity. We'd also be asking him to fill a much different roll on a much more complete team. Just be the link between Ring & Maxi. Mark his man all match. And be enough of a goal scoring threat that it opens up some more room for Villa & Co. I feel like they could leave Yangel alone all day and not worry about him putting one on frame.

Guy is a cancer. No thank you.
Sorry, I don’t buy it one bit. I personally think it was PV that was the problem between the two of them because PV’s entire existence is about doing things his way with no bending or middle ground. We saw it every match with his insistence on playing from the back and no Plan B. The guy just wasn’t flexible or accommodating. Mix didn’t have a problem with Kreis, and no history of locker room issues with prior teams or the MNT, and he is regarded highly enough by his current club that they want to transfer him permanently.

Throw in the bullshit treatment of Lewis, who has only been an offensive revelation every time he steps on the field, and yet PV refused to give an inch on whatever beef he had with the kid. Heck, we were headed towards a tie at best Sunday and then Lewis enters and he gifts Medina a game winning opportunity prior to sealing 3pts by feeding Maxi. 3 crucial points from a guy blacklisted by PV.

And the total denials & double-speak from PV during the Nice saga further adds to his hypocrisy. I won’t be following Nice close enough to keep tabs on whether he banishes 1-2 players each season, but if there was a Vegas line on it I’d put money down on him doing so.
