Yankees Complaining About Stadium Sharing Thread

Oh right then ,sounds like the city players will have as much to complain about the covered dirt then .will the covered areas be on the pitch then ?

Yup, can see it in this photo. The bottom left of the pitch. Apparently this also causes a situation where the soccer ball slows down in this area. I've read this complaint from players that have played here.

Honest question then is their no love lost between the Yankees and nycfc then? So can you support the Yankees and nycfc.am I wrong to think the Yankees have some sort of stake in nycfc ?

I am a die hard Yankee fan, have been for about 25 years and can honestly say that I intend to love NYCFC as much - if not more.

I will also say that I can totally foresee the Yankees using NYCFC as an excuse for their poor performance. Given the recent retirements and terrible recruiting - in light of that the rest of the league has done with their off season. I don't anticipate the Yankees doing anything of note for 2-4 years. I'll of course still go and occasionally roll my eyes and ask "who the hell is THAT guy?" as the infielder gets an error on a ground ball they probably would have missed anyway and then blames NYCFC in the post game press conference.

Yanks are part owners of NYCFC. MCFC has a larger stake, though.

I'm also a big Yankee fan, and support both. My initial appeal to NYCFC had a lot to do with the Yanks being involved.

God that whole side of the pitch looks absolutely awful. Those seats in that corner look miles away and will have a terrible view, but I suppose in baseball they are the best seats in the house ?

Yes and one of the most expensive seats in all of baseball.

Maybe do some joint merchandising with both badges on ,arnt they a similar style ?.
From memory didn't the rags/ man utd have a tie in with the yankies,I remberit being in the press then nothing seemed to happen

At one point, top seats were priced at 1,680 pound sterling per game; I'm not sure if they were reduced since the Yankees have struggled the past couple of years.
Good god you serious ? If I'd known it was that cheap I'd have got a season ticket or two !! Unbelievable .my season ticket at man city is £500 for me and £120 for my lad for 19 games.
I take it you get to chuck a few balls for that

Born a yankees fan, and "born" a NYCFC fan. Considering the old stadium hosted multiple seasons of the Cosmos, and that the old stadium had a darn sewer grate in CF, I think this is firmly in the "first world problems" category.

My thoughts on why this "scandal" is a waste of time.

What all of this is saying is that for a Yankees player to already be formulating excuses for the field before they have even seen how it plays is a bit presumptuous and rather naive. It almost feels like causing trouble for the sake of it. One gets the sense that if Derek Jeter was still playing these comments would have stayed in-house. Sometimes knowing what battles to get involved in is the key to victory, and he would know that this is not a fight worth having

Cashmere's only been around since the late 80's when he was an intern. There were 13 Yankee captain's prior to Jeter's 11 year tenure. There will be more captain's, but it's an earned title.

As someone who grew up playing baseball and shifted to an all grass infield mid-(amateur)career, I would argue that an all grass infield is by far the best for an infielder. If they really cared about bad hops, they'd just shift to that with or without the field transformation concern. It's a truer bounce, hands down. Would there eventually be an impact in the base path? I don't know. Maybe in the course of 81 home games, it would be. I never played more than 25 or so games on one field like that. I never saw an issue, in college or even high school, with base paths becoming problematic. Still could happen, but I doubt it.

I tend to agree with those who see the players as making preemptive excuses. It's a sad commentary on how far the Yankees have fallen with their big money busts.
