Speedy, left footed CB leads me to ask:

Can he play LB in a 4 man backline? Does Mata move up or central (as a Kante style CDM?)
Can he play LCB in a 3 man backline with Chanot as the RCB?
If he can, does that mean that Mata is a LWB and we need a RWB in a 3-4-3 formation? Does that make covering for Pirlo's defensive deficiencies easier or harder?

We need the season to start already

Can Shelton play RWB? A transition to RB has been thrown around, moving to a RWB role with less defensive responsibilities should be an easier transition.
