There should be an NWSL thread, so here's one.

The NWSL this season seems to be watchable primarily on Go90, with some games being televised on Lifetime. I hope to make time to watch a good chunk of games, both to get more familiar with women's soccer beyond the USWNT and so my daughter has more of a chance to see women playing the game.

Speaking of the USWNT, the big roster news right now in the league is Mallory Pugh signing with the last-place Washington Spirit after having been convinced by head coach Jim Gabarra that her development would be better there than at the European clubs. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

The closest club to us geographically is Sky Blue FC who play in Piscataway, NJ. It's probably about time that CFG fires up an NYCFC in the NWSL, right?

When construction starts on NYCFC's stadium, CFG will get the process of acquiring or buying an expansion team in the NWSL fired up.
Irony noted, but seriously it would be a smart way to get more use/revenue out of the stadium, especially if NYCFCW were able to sign some of whoever the big names in American women's soccer are in that far-off year.

NYCWFC. There will be big names in the women's game when we expand into NWSL, plus we'll have the feeder of the Man City women's team too.

"CFG chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has even alluded to investing in a women’s professional soccer franchise in New York City that would be part of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

“The decision by us as a group to get into women’s football, to invest in women’s football has really proven to be a success,” Mubarak told Manchester City FC TV last year. “It’s been a great success in Melbourne and it’s growing to be a success in Manchester. I think you’ll see us potentially doing that in New York and in any other club we invest in.”
