Alexander Ring [Midfielder]

You don't just let opportunities to post pictures of your "testicles" on this board slip by you.

But yeah, I fully agree.

Good to see. Hope he is right. I posted this elsewhere too - hard to know where it should go. Given his importance to the team, the injury probably deserved its own thread.

Yeah I still haven't totally figured out this forum's structure. Where'd you post it?

He posted it in the NYCFC in the Media thread. It could also go in the 2018 roster discussion, or the next game discussion. I think the expectation is you try to fit things in an existing thread before you start a new one for every little bit of news. After that nobody is likely to complain about which thread you put it in as long as there is some relevance and logic to it. It's also nice to look at recent posts and see if something has just been posted, but sometimes people are drafting at the same time and it happens.

Not knowing how bad his injury is, I just hope he’s not rushing back too quickly. At this time of the season, it’s better to see him out of the team for three to four games and getting fully healed, than to see him in and out for the rest of the season for being half fit, like he was during the last fall when he played with pain killers because of the toe injury.

Importance of a strong presence of a manager is invaluable. Players perk up when the likes of PV and Martino are on the other end of the call.

Great read. Glad to have you on this side of the Atlantic, Alex. Glad to see your family adjusting to life well here.

The Finland team for the UEFA Nations League matches vs. Hungary and Estonia was announced today, and Ring is not in the team. The head coach confirmed that this was because he's carrying a sports hernia, which prevents him from giving 100% contribution, and so they decided he's not called for the games. It seriously begs the question, why is he playing 90 minutes week in week out with the injury. It would be disastrous to lose him before the play-offs. Rather rest him now than make things worse.

Wow. Can you post the article with the coach's comments? Not that I don't believe you, I think it would be interesting to see the direct quote.

Didn't Kjbert say this same thing about Ring's injury. I've said this to other fans at games and they think I'm crazy. We've also discussed somewhere on here to rest Ring for the last games of the regular season as we've playing easy opponents. If Dome wants to "win the MLS" then it's the playoffs that matter more. Shut him down as we're likely not getting that 1-2 seed and not moving below 4.
