2018 Season Ticket Thread

You're 100% right. There's another game I'm going to attend in September, and I'm not sure I want to go through this process again. I'll probably just buy the tickets through Ticketmaster. I'm really not a fan of buying tickets to an event, then having to rely on someone else to actually email me those tickets.
And that’s why I had to sell my tickets for the ny derby for 75% of face (after I get the founders discount mind you). The effin derby for 2nd place. If I can’t sell those for a “profit”* what will. People either don’t know or don’t care to check/deal with stubhub-Ticketmaster bullshit.

*flat pricing for all games means this one should sell for more then face since is its the marquee game bringing up the average. I pay the same for a Wednesday night game vs Vancouver as I do this game. So selling for 75% of “face” is really taking a bath. Unbelievably wretched market this year.

I literally just sold my extra tix as I was going to cancel the sale (4:45pm) for about $1-2 below price.

It is truly unbelievable that the marquee match can’t sell early and for a profit.

Sunday night at 7pm isn’t helping things either. Only marginally better than a wed night game.

Next year, i’ll be able to buy single game tickets for $15

Yeah, Sunday nights are shitty since they’re the proverbial school night. Get home around 10pm after a match.

I would be closer to 11 which would be fine except that I don’t have the heart to drag my sorry butt into the Bronx for a 7pm game on a Sunday that I have little hope for only to wake up at 5am the following morning. Adulting really sucks sometimes.

How about being all packed and ready to go to the match at 5:30 and your 6 year old daughter doesn't feel well and starts crying she wants to go home and not the match? Yeah adulting really sucks sometimes.

How does one go about finding who their ticket rep is? I had a conversation with a guy in January, who called to introduce himself as my new rep, but then a few days ago I got an email from a woman reminding me about my 'city member benefits', with the title "fan services" or something.
I just want to reduce the number of my seats since I'm taking such a big hit on them this season.

Edited to add: you CAN confirm the ticket sale on mobile, I'm using chrome on android and just stub hub> menu> sales and it's there. Just have to wait for it to load.

Just email fan services, they’ll help

It actually says it on the my account thing as well. If you click the "contact a representative" thing, it'll say "your rep is _________"

On a side note, today I used my season ticket card for the first time. LOL (This is the first game I haven't used trade-in for!)

Well, I knew it would happen.
After dropping my seats for tonight to a minimum, they sold this morning. Unfortunately, I took a a two hour nap with my kids and woke up to a "your tickets have sold" followed by a " your sale has been cancelled" email. This stubhub situation is shit.

And to add insult to injury, I am going to be charged 40% as a penalty.

On the plus side, you have kids, yet were still able to take a nap. That’s gold, man, fuck the tickets.

Is this because you didn’t transfer them immediately?
Yes. They said you get two hours to transfer or they can cancel if the buyers call.
I understand it from a buyers perspective, you don't want to have to hope you get the tickets transferred on time if you are making plans. They also most likely don't want to have to receive the tickets they just bought through stubhub from ticket master and have to download a separate app to use the tickets.
The whole setup is miserable for everyone.

This whole system is bullshit. Especially in light of the fact that photos of our Apple wallet tickets do scan correctly. So why can’t any site keep those on file to transfer, avoiding these extra steps?

I think I just lost my tickets and will have to pay the 40% too.

Damnit. I hate stubhub partnership.

ETA: this is for RBNJ match. I had to offer different tickets because I traded in and didn’t think about i, so I had to offer alternative tickets in a different row.

The buyer accepted the transfer, so my tickets are gone. Meanwhile, he wouldn’t confirm he accepted the substitute with stubhub. So I get the double jeopardy.

I was going to post this a while back, but for some reason refrained, but here we go.

I was unable to attend our game against TFC and put my tickets on stubhub.

They sold, and I received the email that states:
"Congratulations, you've sold your tickets!
  • Transfer your seats from your team or venue account now
  • Buyer information to complete the transfer is below the sale info summary.
  • We'll process your payment after you enter the buyer's email address on stubhub.com to confirm the ticket transfer. If the team or event uses URL mobile transfer, copy and paste the URL link generated during the transfer process instead.
Click “Confirm Delivery” to complete the process"

So, this being my first time selling on stubhub in this manner, I read the above, and I go into Stubhub and enter the buyer's email address and clicked "Confirm Delivery". I thought I did everything I was supposed to. But, not really thinking it through myself, I forgot the part where I have to log on to my account and do the actual transfer.

So I got the notice from Stubhub that the buyer didn't get their ticket and I was being charged the fee. While realizing my error, I decided I would go ahead and play dumb, and call Stubhub and yell at them. After the agent "made me realize my error", I harped on the lack of detail in their email and that it really isn't clear what the next steps are to complete the transfer. And this is the issue having to go through Stubhub and Ticketmaster.

I went on and on about this and how this is incredibly stupid, it's 2018, there has to be a better way to work through transferring tickets and asked if they were doing something about this.

The Stubhub agent then said, (paraphrasing), "well, we are just about to roll out new functionality that allows you to store a screenshot of the QR code for entry". So I respond "Really? That's great news! This will be a lot easier now, when are you planning on rolling this out?". Her response, "This is going live on June 26th". I look at my calendar and it's June 25th. This has not come out yet.

tl;dr - this functionality is supposedly coming, but it's not clear, nor do I have much confidence on when this might occur

It’s amazing. I’m losing less money not attempting to sell and just eating my tickets.
