National Hockey League

Feeling good this year. Will be at the Tank tonight against the Ducks. We’ve beat them 9 times in a row, so hoping to stretch that to 10.
The Karlsson trade was huge, only question now is health and how/where does Burnsie play. Have fun tonight, I'm jealous!! Want to go out and see them at the tank, I've never been. One of the few Sharks fans born and bred in the NYC area haha.

Was it the teal that drew you?

Dude where were you the three years I lived in NYC!?!

It’s fine to admit that Teal > blue that the Rags/Isles use :D

Lol, it was actually the logo, although the color doesn't hurt. I was an Islanders fan until they traded away half the team in a season or two (Chara, Ziggy Palffy, Tommy Salo, Luongo, etc.). My eight/nine year old self said screw this team, and since I liked sharks I became a fan of them. Then I became more and more interested in the team (Owen Nolan, Vinnie Damphousse, Mike Ricci), and they turned out to be consistent playoff team that just couldn't get over the hump. Still can't, but much better than watching the Isles most of the time over the past 15-20 years. I try to see them at least once a year when they're over here against the Isles or Rangers.

I was the guy giving a high five to the 3 other random shark fans strolling around the concourses of MSG or the Coliseum. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I respect walking away from the Isles for the last 20 years for your own sanity. But any native LIer is always welcomed back. Just don't wait for a parade on Hempstead Turnpike.

Good game, Rangers brethren.

(That was a very :grimacing::grin::grimacing: ending - please don’t get injured again, Captain Jack.)

Go Sabres! Forgot how much I like hockey till I watched the Buffalo games Thursday and last night. Probably the most exciting sport to watch other than footie.

That was crazy. Was shaking from adrenaline and excitement at 1:30AM. It still hasn't hit me that they came back and won it in the way they did.

Sadly I wrote the Sharks off in the 3rd and went to bed. I did get to see Pajama Boy lose again in the 1st round, so that was fun! Can't wait to see who the Isles match up against next round. Either opponent will have tired legs, but I'm hoping it's Carolina. I want home ice for my Isles.

Ha same. Probably didn’t get to bed until 2am.

I’ve shut the game off MANY times over the years. My regret is not going to the game. I was so close to pulling the trigger right after game 6.

I was disappointed at the Leafs not being able to get it done. I planned on going to bed but I decided to watch the CCL 1st leg and was keeping an eye on Portland - OKC (also what a finish). After the CCL game I switched over to the game and I saw 3-0 and I thought welp that's a wrap. I left it on because I was going to watch the end of Portland - OKC (2 TV setup) and I saw the Pavelski incident. Thought man that sucks, if were going to lose a game 7 that way at home plus you take out my teammate like that you'll have to pay for that win in blood.
They call the major and I'm thinking too little too late. 1st goal: Cool a consolation goal. 2nd: Oh shit at least the end of the game is going to be intense. 3rd: whoa it's tied omg wow what a comeback. 4th: OHMYFUCKINGGOD AHDJDKDKSKKDFKJFKF THE SHARKS ARE GOING TO WIN. I had to silently freak out because people were asleep. Then Vegas ties it again. Skip ahead, Dame Lillard sends Westbrook and OKC home with a buzzer beating 3 from damn near halfcourt and I'm losing my mind. Then "hella" intense sequences lead to San Jose pulling off a crazy comeback in an insane game 7. VGK blew a 3-1 series lead.
Great night in sports in a very long time.
